Dave is fine and will draw attendance which this festival definitely needs. I'm really looking forward to seeing Cage the Elephant again but ultimately I'm just ready to get back to the farm.
I would have gone regardless since we live in Nashville and we’ve gone to every one since it started in 2014, but Dave is in my Top 10 artists so I’m stoked. The rest of the lineup is pretty good as well.
Also, you’re right it looks like they’ve got about 10 more artists to add based on numbers from past years.
So probably one more biggish name, a couple of second tier acts, and then fill out the undercard.
Even though I’m a huge Dave fan, that top line is I think the weakest they’ve ever had.
What is this festival like? We are moving to the area from the gulf coast this summer and went ahead and got tickets. What are the crowds like—big/small? younger/older? how easy is it to get close? many families? Will it be hot late september?

I went the first three years. Hotter than the other side of the sun - dress loose, drink water, apply the sunscreen and wear a hat. There is some shade, but not near where the acts perform. Crowds are NOT like at Bonnaroo (or Hangout Fest) - there is room to move around and if you want to hang further back from the stage, there is room to stretch out - the rolling hills of the site make for almost amphitheater viewing for the main stages. And if you want to get close to the front, I've never had an issue. The crowd tends to skew older. I think this is due to the lineup and the overall cost of the ticket. There are always plenty of families there. The fest has a small stage for age appropriate performances. If you are driving your car there and can avoid parking on site, try to do that. When the show lets out, the fest's parking exits jam and the local roads fill up. If it rains, you may never get out of the onsite parking (mud). It has a cool merch area with some local flavor & a good mix of food booths and food trucks. The main stage is picture perfect for the closers - the sunsets and you forget there is civilization just behind you. I hope you enjoy it.

I've been every year, including the typhoon year. Crowds are easy to navigate. If you had done Bonnaroo, this is a piece of cake. The crowds tend to be older, but with lots of families sprinkled in. Very easy to get close. Just go for the show before and park it. It's been hot AF the last two times I went. Bring a frozen sealed water bottle. And a blanket and or folding chairs. The food is fantastic. Can you say chicken biscuit? All the food trucks are good too. They have their own area. Best to go for food at off times to prevent fighting the crowds. The merch, as mentioned above, is fun to shop. Lots of local artists. Go early to park and you won't have a bad line to get in. If you love the headliner and want to stay for the whole thing, you will have a wait to get out.
And if it rains buckets and they cut it short, get the hell out of the parking lot. It's a freakin farm and it becomes a nightmare to get out. Just ask the people that got their cars stuck. (not me, we hit a Franklin restaurant up for dinner).

I’ll never forget the one year we went to jazz fest and I remember seeing bikes chined up 5 ft and wondered why.....I found out about 2 hours later when the rain came and flooded New Orleans above my knees.
Right? I wonder if they’re not selling tickets like they have in the past so they have to make it up on the back end. I think the elementary parking lot was like 20 bucks in prior years.
I think it is the weakest lineup they’ve had as far as Top 4 is concerned, and this is coming from a huge DMB fan.
There's plenty of free street parking in the downtown Franklin area. If you're willing to walk you'll save money and possibly time waiting in the lots. I've never bought their parking passes, but I've heard getting out is a pain.
Yeah getting out can be a headache if you park in the on-site lots, especially the year the monsoon hit. It took us 2-3 hours to get out of the parking lot that day.
Yeah something is definitely off this year. Lineup is not as good. VIP price increased significantly and has not sold out when it typically sells out quickly. We’re around a month out and they still haven’t released the daily lineup or daily tickets yet. This is actually ok with me as I’d love for crowds to be back to the level they were in year 1. But I also wonder if this is the final nail. They just haven’t had any luck at all starting with the rain out a couple of years ago, followed up with covid, and now things just aren’t working this year.
They also instituted some pretty strict covid guidelines which have turned some people off. Proof of vax or negative test required for entry. No big deal to me but it is yet another potential sales barrier.
I do know that an immediate band aid would be for Justin Timberlake to say he’s playing then the whole weekend would immediately sell out. Bad for me but great for the ownership group I guess (which JT is a part of).
Is it just me or is it crazy that we’re less than a month out and we don’t even know who is playing on what day?
Also, I can’t figure out how to purchase a parking pass… I see no links. But I’m wondering if that’s the route to go anyways? Are they really $100? Anyone remember how much shuttle passes were in the past and if they functioned efficiently?

Yes. The damn parking pass is $100. Ridiculous. I’ve never tried the shuttle.

I parked at the school and did the shuttle on Saturday 2019. Waiting for the shuttle was a pain. On Sunday I parked at the VFW for cheaper and easily walked to the venue. And got out easy too. Highly recommend the VFW.

I did a little digging and if the set up is similar to years before we’ll plan on parking downtown (at bicentennial park most likely) and biking in. Sounds like they close the northbound lane on franklin rd from downtown to the festival entrance for pedestrians and bikes.
Not going to this fest (which is a shame because I really do like the lineup) but I have to agree with y'all that it's very strange for it to be 23 days out and no daily lineups, no schedule, have y'all even heard anything about your wristbands shipping?

I got an email today that wristbands had shipped. But still no schedule…

I've got a bad feeling this one is going to be canceled. Nothing to base it on other than a gut feeling. Something seems off.
Wondering if Mempho makes it too. With WSP cancelling so many shows I could see them dropping out and the festival canceling altogether instead of trying to book another headliner.
It’s September 7th and there is still no daily lineup. This festival is less than 3 weeks away and we are getting announcements about what brand of beer, vodka, and food will be available. Could be some last ditch marketing for their sponsors before pulling the plug I suppose but let’s go down a more positive side for now.
Another reason could be that the Saturday daily lineup is not great. I looked through tour dates for the top 4-5 lines and compiled the following. We already knew the lineup is lean this year relative to years past but this looks bleak on Saturday. Awesome on Sunday:
Saturday: Black Keys (this is the one band I had to guess on) Maren Morris Amos Lee Tanya Tucker Better than Ezra Houndmouth
Sunday: DMB Cage THE Elephant Black Pumas Khruangbin
If Black Keys are not actually on Saturday then that day is a train wreck. It’s already somewhat borderline for me as I’m not a country fan so Maren and Tanya do nothing for me.
Just trying to keep the conversation going here while we all continue to wait.
They’ve also stopped replying to all the comments asking about the schedule. They used to say “coming soon!” Now the only comments they reply to are customer service requests in which they tell people to email them. And then the commenter claims they’ve emailed them multiple time’s and gotten zero response 😬
Did yours arrive prior to estimated delivery timing? Supposedly Thursday for ours and we live in the Boro.
Scratch that. Estimate has changed to out for delivery. Should have today.
It came when it said it would.
And my money is on Black Keys Saturday.
Mine arrived about an hour ago. And I’m with you on Black Keys. Fortunately I’m not torn at all on scheduling conflicts with the daily headliners this year. Black Keys positioning over Maren Morris for sure. Absolutely cannot wait to see Cage the Elephant again.
Would it be too much to ask for a repeat of Labor Day weather as well?
