Hello, friends. 2021 is my first Roo, and I haven't been camping in ages, so I need to snag a tent. It's just for me at this festival, but I figured I'd get something 2-3-person for future camping use by me, my wife, and whatever addition we might have coming down the road. So, I'm looking for something decent...but, given we're not die-hard regular campers, I also don't want to break the bank. The main qualities I'm looking for are a) waterproof, b) decently ventilated, c) relatively easy setup/breakdown, and d) some kind of blackout situation. I realize I may not be able to get all of that, but I've been looking around, and I'm kind of at sea in terms of the options that are out there.
Any advice/favored brands/direct recommendations would be most welcome.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

As far as blackouts go, in fourteen Roos I haven't found a better situation than an EZ up with an added cover for one whole side and two half sides to go over my tent. It also proves bonus protection from rain and a bit of privacy. The downside is that you lose some air-flow but I compensate for that with fans. Also, it's more to pack and assemble. For me, though, the added couple hours of sleep each morning is worth the trade off.

My trusty cheapo Coleman 2 person finally died a horrible death while I was camping at a friends luau party. Therefore I have ordered 2 more tents that I'll be testing out soon. The first one is a Night Cat 2 person tent and the second is a Coleman 4 person pop up. I'm fairly sure that I'll be bringing the Coleman because after sitting in traffic to get in Roo after a 14 hour drive, I don't think I'm going to want to deal with tent poles. Even if it is only two of them.
