It's weird that basically anything Miley or Dua or Beyonce or Olivia Rodrigo make will be considered 100% pop even though it's not necessarily similar but someone like Drake is not pop because he's a rapper, but no one would argue against Nicki or Cardi being called pop.
"pop became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible." seems like a exact definition of Drake's music.
but it isn’t like Paak, Megan, and Cardi are “alt” artists who exist outside of “commercial and accessible” parameters
But I’ll rest my case
cardi and meg are much bigger wiki rule misses, but i dont think i can remember paak doing anything to really be culturally relevant that makes me think he's a huge omission from the rule. and i just dont happen to agree with the drake comparison.

silk sonic, but it's very much Bruno, a pop star, leaning further out of "pop" and more into paaks lane

silk sonic isn’t culturally relevant. At least not yet. No common person on the street even knows what that is.

Leave the Door Open was #1 on Billboard
do you think people know what "silk sonic" is? im not trying to say paak is some niche artist, all i said is he's not close to drake at all in terms of being a pop star.

Personally of the opinion that still no one who knows who Anderson Paak is but that at least people can be aware “Silk Sonic” is a Bruno Mars side band or project or whatever

Paak has twice the monthly listeners of Frank Ocean and Tyler The Creator

I imagine it’s made Andy bigger but do I find him to be a pop star? No. Similarly I don’t find Mark Ronson to be a pop star, who literally had Uptown Funk released under his name because Bruno just far blows him out in popularity
