Ryman N1 was awesome. Was a really great setlist for me personally-Atlas and The Way It Is are definitely two of my favorite covers, and they were both amazing. Also got a lot of classic Goose jams for the first time-first Wysteria, Creatures, and White Lights is real nice. Hope they figure out the time management for tonight a little better and don't have to cut everything short for curfew.
Surprised they're still not coming to Birmingham, they could probably sell out Avondale in an hour
I'm rereading this thread for fun before tomorrow, there's so many funny takes that are hesitant but hopeful about this band's future. It's pretty obvious they've blown all expectations out of the water, they sold out Avondale in ten minutes
I was sitting really close last night. Evidently for those watching at home, I was on the live feed. It was my first time truly experiencing the community that is a Dead/Phish/Goose show. I'm more a pop/rock attendee. I've got to say, it's something on another level. I was by myself, but embraced by all those around me. No talking during the sets, just dancing our asses off. It was transcendent.
Now I'm going to do a 51 mile bike ride. Enjoy your Sunday.

We will attend a goose show together at some point.
The fans have always been pretty cool so far. Lots of active people in the community.

Oh man I forgot to mention that maybe 3 minutes into the set, two literal geese flew over the stage and everyone started pointing and yelling GOOOOOOOSE and it was one of the most beautiful crowd moments I've ever seen, band seemed really confused though

this makes me happy.
i'm quick to poke fun at the jamband fanbase for this that or the other, but the truth is it's a special thing. i can waltz into any phish show solo and feel confident that everyone around me is already my friend. you can trace the culture all the way back to the the 60s, it's a community that has taken it's knocks and made a million different mistakes, many of which they've learned from and passed down to the next generation. be kind and respectful to each other. be kind and respectful to the venue staff. take care of each other and focus on the music.
we aren't all angels! no rose colored glasses here. but the good outweighs the bad. really the phish scene taught me how to do live music and i'm grateful for that.
