Nearly to the venue. Wearing a green shirt that I can only describe as elf-like, green carhartt pants and a red flannel with green Christmas tree sunglasses. Merry Goosemas!

I'm being a bum at the moment and chilling in one of the seats on the side. That 7 hour drive drained me and waiting at the early merch was worth it but now I'm sore. Going to try for an early merch foil tomorrow because that's the one I really wanted but I was able to grab the one from today too. May get rid of one if I can get tomorrow's.
yeah that was a really really good show. we were front left of soundboard and had a good view and sound the whole time. i can’t get over how cool the spaceship lights look. band was locked in and having fun i couldn’t be happier. burning down the house RIPPED and they went to cool places on all of their jams
hell yeah!!! i’m pete side just outside the entrance into the arena. navy blue goose hat, buc-ee’s sweater tee, and yeti pajama pants. say hi if you see me. i’m going to try to get close to vip pit to hang with browell

i’m up on the stage rail so might be tough to come up but hope to catch ya after!
two pretty unconventional Goose shows with all of the covers, but they really rocked it and took it to the next level with their own songs
light rig and stage/themes were fantastic even though i would’ve liked at least some play on the Christmas side of things. crowd was also fantastic for both nights, especially tonight after getting in line around 10am and becoming part of the crew with the regulars!

i got home from va on sunday night went to work the next morning, napped, christmas-ed up the house, and now i’m back at work again and feeling decently rested. now it’s time to recap!!!
first off the coliseum is probably the coolest venue i’ve ever been to. looks cool, it’s on the water, great sound and views indoors, and a fun parking lot that was free and somehow easy to get out of after waiting for cars to file out for about 20 min. the space theme definitely made the run feel even more special for goose’s hampton debut. the run ended up being special to me for a few reasons i’ll get into.
i also don’t think there’s enough to write about the light show. everything they had set up on stage for each set looked cool but goedde actually had spaceship looking lights the whole time and it looked so cool. goose said on instagram that they had their biggest crew for a show for goosemas and you could definitely tell by the production.
n1 and n2 were both 10/10 for me and i’ll be listening to them for a while. 10/31/21 was a show that got me into goose because i love austin powers so watching that set helped sell me on them. i mention this because the whole goosemas x run was very covers heavy. they had 11 covers over 2 nights with 10 of them first time played (burning down the house was last played in 2017 with a different keyboard player so i feel that barely counts). even though there are goose songs i haven’t heard that i might have subbed in for some of the covers it was still cool to catch a run with so many covers and i felt like my wife enjoyed the shows even more since she recognized most of them.
the n1 mirrors i’m also obsessed with because phish’s bakers dozen was a run that got me into jam bands and i’ve always loved the 7/15/17 lawn boy i.e. a song that’s typically not jammed out that got jammed on for a long time. got a similar vibe from mirrors and that was really dope. vibey tumble was amazing and man in the mirror was fine.
then they pull the pyros out for set 2 for a fire theme!!! once it set in that we’re getting themed sets i was pretty pumped. all of the covers were really fun and i guess rick was off-key a little bit during burning down the house but the crowd was so into it that i didn’t notice. the first so ready -> slow ready during the encore was extra cool. peter was way into it and hot tea was a great way to end the night. n1 was overall crowd pleasing with welcomed surprises
set 1 n2 was my favorite set of the weekend with pancakes being my favorite jam. dripfield jam was better but i was so locked into the light show and transitions during pancakes that i was really into it. circles and 99 red balloons turned the party into another level. it was cool to see people around me that didn’t seem like they listened to much goose or jam be so into the post malone cover. then goose pulls out big blue by vampire weekend!!! i wouldn’t have gotten into goose without vampire weekend so that was another special moment for me. i saw vampire weekend summer 2022 then went to bonnaroo and wanted to see goose in case they did the 2021 cover. they didn’t do that but i had a great time and they’ve become my favorite band.
final set of the weekend was jungle themed and to be honest i hadn’t heard most of the covers from this set but was way into the jungle boogie cover in the middle of empress. that was probably my favorite cover of the weekend. bruce hornsby sit in was very good and the band seemed to be really into that. for the encore the band gave everyone an arcadia sing along then they got on their rocket ships and blasted away.
these were shows 6 and 7 for me and easily my favorite. there were moments that were personal to me but overall the band was having fun and the crowd was loving all of it and everyone i talked to was really cool. there was also a pretty live lot scene and balloons as far as you can see which is funny since goose only really plays theaters when they tour. when we left on n2 we were next to a hotel and we could a hear a tank in the front yard and we looked over and there were 5 guys by a bush with balloons. funny stuff. my only critique was not hearing any christmas music but the band went all out and had four uniquely themed sets so i’m not going to nitpick their song choices

he was a very very good drummer and i hope they put in someone strong. i don’t think jeff can time keep for the whole band. i’m bummed but hopefully this relieves some stress for the band and the switch up renews some creativity. i have a post in the headliner thread about this but the letter reads like he got kicked out for drug related issues

online communities just blow. that’s why i like it here there aren’t that many of us. i unsubbed from the goose subreddit earlier this week because it was just gossip. if you look at the phish subreddit it’s people talking about how they hate phish now because they couldn’t get sphere tickets. the loudest and most negative voices are the ones everyone notices on social media and it’s best to simply disengage. facebook is built so we all fight each other. the internet isn’t real life yet when you have a bunch of tech illiterate people forced to be online because of the pandemic it scrambles their brains because they’re preyed on for clicks
