that riverbeat fest lineup is pretty good considering they put it together in about 3-4 months due to some weird city politics and stepping in late when Beale Street music fest called it quits. The promoters (Mempho Presents) is also stepping in to propduce a BBQ fest later in the month too (another casualty of the mismanaged Memphis in May organization and local politics). They usually do Mempho fest in September, which is a bit smaller scale and more focused on jam/americana/blues stuff.
I'm pretty confident with a little more lead time they can put together something better in future years.

How Coachella didnt roll the dice on The Fugees is just bizarre. Lauryn and Wyclef better keep thanking Pras that he is working the legal system to the end so they could do shows.
Pras was missing last year for the Fugees gigs in Toronto Canada. Pras did do the Vancouver show.
That suicidal/slayer guy is /= to that festival poster. Legit possibly the worst lineup for my tastes that I’ve ever seen. It’s full of acts I hate. And Alro Nova. Haha.

I can’t imagine anyone who isn’t a dad attending this
Dads who are also way behind on child support.
I like how they don't even worry about getting whole bands for the headliners anymore. Enjoy the lead singers of Ratt and Poison with some rando musicians and the Twisted Sister guy will make some sort of guest appearance too!
That's standard operating procedure for the nostalgia rock circuit. Most of the guys in the bands don't like each other anyway, and the payouts increasingly dwindle to the point where it's easier as a singer to take a smaller bag and get 100% then get a slighter bigger check for the full band and split it 4 ways.
The park felt pretty small past year, I can see this selling out. Kylie, Janelle, Sophie, etc, how can it not?
It normally sells out. Its just that this time they have a megastar at the top and nobody will care. The pre sale was $100 after fees. Last year you were able to get the lowest priced 2 day for $50. Considering youll get like 75% of her show at this for a fraction of the cost of the solo show its gonna drove attendance up. I think theyll still sell some single days for it just at an inflated price. Its crazy that she didnt get booked the following week when they do a larger event at State Historic Park where you can have 15,000 people instead of a third of that in weho. Sophi is for sure Saturday due to her tour dates.
