I hoped that last year was just a one off. Nope. My local non-Bonnaroo fest is now dead to me. Noah Kahan headlining and he has 2 nights in Nashville in late May already. At least we have Coin.

There's something I dislike about how they present the artists on the poster..
The names are all jumbled.
There will be another, honestly. They tend to do a jumbled on and a more traditional looking poster later on. It’ll sell out in a day or two before that ever happens though.

Woof. My initial read of this poster was "okay, not bad." There's some names in the undercard that I really enjoy like Illiterate Light.
But then I realized what an insanely steep drop-off after the headliners. To go from DMB & Hozier to Trombone Shorty? Pretty much all of the undercards are playing the 1 PM slot at Bonnaroo.
Are they only do one big stage and a small stage this year? I can remember when they had like 5 stages with diverse talent (in genre and booking status). I'm not sure how this fest keeps returning given how it seems to be getting smaller every year.

Yeah I’m with you. I don’t know how they pull it off but similar lineup the last time I went (2 years ago) and as I recall they had dropped it to 2 big stages and 2 really tiny ones. The crazy thing is they did manage to sell out last year and I guess the lineup was on par with this one. I really think it just generally draws old people like me and they figured out the rich people in that area will pay basically whatever to have the experience of a 2-day festival, regardless of how it comps to previous years. The difference in lineup depth now vs 17-19 is not even close. And it’s way more expensive now.
Anyway I’ve already spent more time talking about this fest than I should have. Hopefully someone enjoys their time on the farm for the 10 year.

Huh? Trombone Shorty is the best thing on that poster.

Not sure what they sound like but "Hippies and Cowboys" is the best thing on that poster.

That's not a comment on Trombone Shorty as a performer or artist. I've seen him a handful of times and it's always good. My comment is regarding him as the first act listed after the two headliners is a drop off in terms of popularity and status. I'd be surprised if he's even playing (and filling) 1000 cap rooms outside of NOLA. It's more to do with headliners that are of headliner quality, but the undercard isn't spectacularly weighty.

You will never convince me that NEEDTOBREATHE is a headliner of headliner quality.

I have no idea. I'm going to check venue capacities for the last 10 shows in the USA/Canada and then in the world.
Event Center Hollywood Casino, Ranson, WV - up to 1,500
The State Theatre, Ithaca, NY - 1,600
FM Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA - 1,832
Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - 1,800
The Music Hall, Portsmouth, NH - 895
State Theatre, Portland, ME - 1,870
Danforth Music Hall, Toronto - 1,500
Carolina Theatre, Durham, NC - 1,055
Mill & Mine, Knoxville - 1,200
Heights Theater, Houston, TX - 500
Moody Theater, Austin, TX - 2,750
So let's say 1450 in the US (not counting festivals which is about 15% of their appearances). Also whatever Red Rocks holds
