the cookout is pretty fascinating because I am very happy a black houseguest is finally going to win Big Brother but this is going to probably completely change the game for future seasons. You have to think an explicitly all white alliance will come in the next 3 seasons or so
I think this is probably true but what I wonder is also how various sectors of fans would react to it, especially since it's sharply divided by social media platforms - as I kind of mentioned above, Facebook tends to skew very casual and very conservative and would almost certainly welcome it, but BB Twitter fans would absolutely eat anyone who tries that alive and a lot of the fans who end up on the show fall into the latter category (including, notably, Claire and Tiffany this season).
coming into the season i was so excited to see sarah beth play. she came off as this really intelligent, sweet, down to earth player. she had a really good read on hannah the round that whitney left, but played too aggressively and made her look bad.
she teamed up with kyland and kyland was hoh last round and then she just lets him get away with completely manipulating her to the point where her noms were what HE wanted as noms and not what she wanted. they are literally all just going to lay down and die at the mercy of the cookout. becoming disappointed in some players. best case scenario is DX wins veto and takes claire off so that they are both safe. that would mean that no matter what, a cookout member would be leaving (unless replacement nom was alyssa... which isn't unlikely)
what exactly is SB supposed to do. if anyone targets multiple members of the cookout at this point during their HOH they would likely be gone the next week unless they won themselves the veto. The best play is to hang around the hoop and hope someone massively messes up
i think if DX/claire/SB/alyssa were wise enough to team up, they could ensure a cookout member leaves and then next week, the playing field is much more even as it would be 5-4 instead of 6-4. it's not gonna happen because the cookout has their hands in every single pot and each person left in the game is closely aligned with someone in the cookout, but if someone were to be brave enough to propose it and the other 3 follow through, there's still a chance to bust the game wide open and make it a more level playing field
for example, SB has every reason to target tiffany, and i think that if she were to be put up, that she might leave because of how threatening of a player she is. i don't like the idea of just sitting back and praying that someone messes up. i understand trying to lay low but at this point in the game, it's do or die, and just sitting back and letting the cookout walk over the house is just not the move to make if they want any shot of winning the game

I feel like almost every season except this season has had an all-white alliance since the minorities and older people tend to leave first. 🤣
Should I move the BB Draft updates to this thread or keep them in the Garbage TV thread?
I think most of us are here, but I'll see it in either place. any chance to update it going forward with the name of the evicted houseguest next to their placement?
Yeah, this week could have been super interesting if Alyssa, Sara Beth, Claire, and DX had figured out they are the ones on the outs and gotten together. Plus, they all made strategic errors this week even though Claire / DX pretty much have the CO figured out. DX playing in the high roller and he probably wins and keeps Claire safe.
DX made a good case for himself with SB this morning but she's still definitely putting him up. I hate ittttt.
Two questions: 1. How likely is a battle back? I've never seen one so I have no idea how possible it is 2. Is a triple eviction a foregone conclusion at this point? And how does that work? I feel like they did one last season but I was a noob and didn't pay much attention to the show

1. battle backs used to be forgone conclusions, but with Covid they wouldn't risk it. they've done them for both pre and post jury houseguests and they would just have them play a comp to come back in or they'd have them play in the HOH comp with everyone else and the last evictee gets to return (and has a chance at HOH). think wall comp for this.
2. the schedule sure does make it seem likely. there are 2 ways they can do it. a) have them just do 2 double evictions (2 HOH, 2 Veto, 2 votes) or b) they can do it like BBCAN where they nominate 3 houseguests for eviction and then vote on who is SAFE instead of who they VTE.
also, usually the battlebacks and the double/triple evictions go hand and hand, but this season is a little bit shorter. hopefully it rushes the final 6 endgames since the show can really drag on in that phase in a typical season. at least this season we can look forward to the cookout civil war.

Would the jury house not be seen as an extension of the BB house bubble though? Are they able to leave or have people come in which would lead to a covid risk?
GOD I WISH THEY HAD JURY HOUSE LIVE FEEDS. Especially for when the real feeds are down. I'd love to see what Brit is doing right now lolll.

Jury house feeds would be amazing in some seasons! last year would have been great since it was all-stars.
the issue with the bubble is that the jury house would be a separate bubble. Big Brother recently had 9 covid cases and they were kinda lucky that it didn't get close enough to the houseguests. when they are in jury house they aren't nearly as secluded as they are in the BB house. they have handlers and others that they interact with and sometimes they often don't even interact with the other jury members as much except when they film segments.
in BB10 Dan actually won a power that let him take a jury member out to dinner on a private island. that's probably the main reason he won that season because he took Michelle (i think?) to explain what he betrayed her and then she became his biggest fan in jury.

I have been waiting for this, and was at a loss when they seemed to be putting the pieces together but then did not make any major moves. I guess it is easy for me to judge with all this outside information. But I have been hollering at these folks the last few episodes.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I really hated seeing the CO men turning on the CO women yesterday, they downplayed all of their contributions to keeping the CO together and had some really disrespectful talks. They're so against the DX flip because they know he would protect them.
Both mafia games last night are worth going back and watching though, very funny!

Can't wait to watch the episode in a couple hours! Excited about who won HOH but also nervous about the coin flip?? Did they better explain how it will work?
Feeds just came up! The ladies look so cute all dressed up.
