Oh, I have my pre-Riot Fest day with the Avail mini fest tomorrow. Middle age punk rock dudes and beer. Looking forward to it as a precursor to next month.
What parks would be able to host it on the north side though? The parts of Lincoln Park near North Ave beach?
I think so or they can move it outside of the city. One thing is clear the residents of that neighborhood don't want it there so something needs to change.
I do agree Riot Fest has handled this situation horribly but my take is that everyone in the city hates festivals being around them and there’s no good solution for that other than no events happening in the city ever. I’ve had my street shut down by festivals too; it’s irritating but it happens everywhere and for the annoyance it brings I also don’t want it to go away either.

I have streets near me shut down for festivals, but I think the situation in Douglass is different with Riot Fest, Heat Wave and Summer Smash residents of that neighborhood don't have access to parts of their park for 46 days per summer. Other neighborhoods in the city are not being affected to that degree.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Oh and is there any interest for a brunch or meet up? I’m apparently not stressed enough in my life and wanna add “meeting internet strangers” to the list.

when we doin Kuma’s?
Depends on how many people voted in last nights survivor.
They wanted to fuck around and find out. Hopefully they move to Tinley 🤣
Remember that podcast or interview where they said “we have big news to share this year” and went on to say it was on par with moving from the club show to Humbolt? There was never any big news and now I’m starting to wonder if it was too early to announce and this is playing a part in it.

Pure speculation, obviously.
If it moved to Grant theyre just gonna subtweet/shit post Lolla all year. Give the gente their park back!

They cannot move to Grant Park, Lolla has festival exclusivity built into their agreement with the city.

I do wish the Riot Fest brand would separate their “Riot Fest Presents…” social media posts and the ones for the festival proper into two different accounts. Especially a month out, I don’t need the false excitement of seeing “JUST ANNOUNCED - State Champs at Concord Music Hall in November”

After reading I'm more sympathetic to arguments like the youth soccer leagues than I was before but the guy saying homes near Douglass Park cost $600k now because of Riot Fest is a straight up lie lol
