Not super into this booking either but otoh I imagine the pool of big name Riot Fest bands that could be ready to go two weeks from now is pretty slim.

Definitely a loss, imo. That said, they played Chicago not too long ago and not under any radius clause and one of the dudes is in LS Dunes. It makes sense to me.

They got Slipknot last year to fill in for NIN, thats pretty good for last minute.
Is there a way to tell when that was added to their page? Maybe it's been there since the lineup drop, with their guitarist or whatever playing in LS Dunes.
I'm just grasping at straws though. Coheed is fine, definitely a band I have fond nostalgic feelings for, but they'd be a very lame vanilla replacement for Bauhaus. Especially having just gotten a prominent schedule spot last year.

Not that I’m aware of. If it was LS Dune related, I feel like the whole tour would be there but who knows. They only added a few dates of the upcoming tour with Thrice.
I usually walk into these things thinking I’m gonna be underwhelmed though.

Thinking about doing this last second. Since three days are sold out, If I buy from stubhub ($184 after fees) I should be able to get a wristband at the box office right? Is stubhub to be trusted?

Riot Fest uses paper/PDF tickets, not wristbands, so you’ll be good
