Maybe there's one good surprise, but I'm expecting some unappealing mix of:
Billie Dua J Cole ASAp Rocky Baby MGK Glass Animals Kygo Rufus Du Sol
Lolla always books at least two rock headliners. I suppose MGK could fill one spot, but it's going to be better than your list.
Right - that couldnt be the actual lineup, but those seem like the most Lolla-y names that I feel like i would expect to see.
My list is kind of like a worst-case plausible scenario of names that would be big enough. It would be shocking for them to do worse than that, although you can't rule out them somehow not booking Dua Lipa and booking Kings of Leon instead.
I have a half-baked theory that the festivals who were able to go on in 2021, hence making $$$, have generally had the stronger lineups in 2022 vs those fests who are just now returning after two years. Lolla will be the biggest test to that IMO... let's see how healthy C3s budget truly is.

Might be something to that, but I also think some of these fests are benefiting from the fact that a lot of acts just weren't ready to commit to getting back on the road in the spring/early summer.
In retrospect, Lolla did an incredibly admirable job with the hand they were dealt last year being the first festival back. Intrigued to see what they can pull off with more time and options.
I'm hoping since last year's lineup was so bad that this one will be a bit better. I'm scared they're trying to cater to the tiktok crowd from here on out

at this point the “tik tok” crowd and most festival goers are a circle venm diagram. At this point im just facing that im getting older and and lineups, especially in the US, are going to get less and less appealing as years go on. And thats okay, im not the Kid Laroi, Tai Verdes or Gayles audience but its going to be inevitable for acts like them taking up more and more real estate on lineups. All we can do is hope festivals balance it out.

The age of the audience Lolla is targeting hasn't really changed since 1991. The genre of music that age listens to has changed, but Lolla pretty much uniformly goes where youth culture goes. They've almost never deviated.
