Everyone should post when they got to Bonnaroo, which entrance they got into, and where they were camped. This way we can get a better idea for next year about best arrival times/entrance for good spots!
Wednesday night 6:00 PM, Bushy Branch Road from Exit 111, Camp James Bond
All right, got there on Thursday around 11 A.M. Came from on 24 West. Took Exit 112. Waited less than an hour. Got into Campe Emperor. The ferris wheel was ride behind us. Less than 5 mins away from the entrance. Great site. Great time. I will post around in different threads with my thoughts rather than one huge review. Highlight, easily was Superjam last night.
well we got to the 55 exit off 24 east at around 10am Thursday waited 1 hour in line moving about 1 mile in that time, before being told that they were closing down that entrance and told us to turn around get back onto 24 and get into that long ass line...waited another 2 1/2 hours or so to get into the site from there, got into camp Dr. Peter Venkman around 1:30pm had about a 10 - 15 min walk to Centeroo. Great time!
Got to Manchester at about 12 noon. Came in at I-24 West on exit 112. Only waited an hour or less. Parked right next to the Pod 3 balloon in the borttom right of Camp Mickey Goldmill. Went to far left corner of Camp Shooter McGavin near the road. Very nice spot. Only took a minute to walk to Centeroo.
Got into town about 7:55AM and had to drive down I-24 East all the way to exit 127 then turn around and go I-24 West back to around exit 114, they let us in off the highway though. Got in about 9:30ish. We were on the north-cental side of Camp Sloane Peterson.

Got in to Manchester around 6:55 AM on Thursday, met a friend at Wal-Mart, in line by 7:20, setting up camp by 8:15. We were out in the boonies, Camp Goodhead, 20 minute walk to Centeroo. I will come later next time, but it was good exercise and a beautiful weekend so no complaints here.

We arrived at the infamous Walmart at around 530 am on Wednesday morning and never seen so many hippies in one spot...i thought that was against the rules hah joking...but yea we around inside and of course i was right when i told my friends that the first people usually get the crappy campgrounds but they didnt wanna listen...sometimes there are cases in which this isnt true but a majority of them are crappy...we had CAMP GRISWOLD
We got into Roo about 5am manchester time and ended up in camp pu55yGalore!!! Great camp name but it was at the farthest corner it seamed. We had a great time more room over that way, the wind was kind to us and our little area was super friendly.
We arrived around 9:30 AM on Thursday morning and stayed in Camp Adrian- SO CLOSE! We could see the main stage from our tent. It was a great location, close to Centeroo, the medic tent, bathrooms, etc.
Wednesday night 6:00 PM, Bushy Branch Road from Exit 111, Camp James Bond ..........got set up by about 9 pm and then it started....I loved our campsite....we were in the last row against the woods......about 20 minute walk
Thursday night about 7:00, via Bushy Branch (I think) from exit 127 (to Hillsborough Highway). We were really far away, all the way in Pod 11. I'm not sure which camp, maybe Fat Bastard.
Came in off 24 at exit 112. Ticket was ripped at about noon and after 20 mintues and a large dust tornado passing over our van we were in camp Clubber Lang. My wife and I have gone three times and the first two times we stayed in camp Dr. No (Gleek 2004). To be out of BFE felt great had the best time ever.
Pulled off the highway at exit 111 at about 4 AM. Pulled into camp puss.y galore at about 5AM. Will definitely shoot for a little later arrival time next year. Walk wasn't unbearable, but it wasn't fun.
I arrived at 8 pm on Wednesday and they were letting GA in. I camped at the KOA until thursday at 6 AM. checked in at VIP at 7 AM. Waited in traffic til 10 pm, and was on site through the VIP entrance in VIP A with the best spot I've ever had around 11 AM.
Pulled in around 3am Friday morning. Zero wait. One of the Breakfast Club camps (not bad at all)... don't remember which off the top of my head. Had camp pitched before dawn. It was cold.
Arrived at VIP check-in at about 8 a.m., waiting for our friends to arrive until about 8:30. Got wristbands and a vehicle sticker and was in line by about 9:30. Despite some wacky traffic management and about 300 confused non-VIP/non-Vendor people trying to get in the wrong entrance, we were in and set-up (and napping!) by about 11 a.m. We got an awesome spot about 100 yards from the hospitality tent.
Got there at about 3:30 on thursday afternoon and spent the night in that crazy wall mart party. THen we woke up and left and were in our camp by 7:15. We got camp Sloane Peterson, literally a three minute walk from the main gate. It was amazing.
We left La Vergne, about 60 miles north around 10 am Thursday. Left the wal-mart lot around 2:30 because of late friends, but were in the camp by 5 that evening. The lines moved along rather nicely to me, compared to last year. This was the best Roo for me out of two so far. We were in acessable camping with an Rv this year, which was right behind The Other Tent, Camp Daniel LaRusso.
Pulled off the highway at exit 111 at about 4 AM. Pulled into camp puss.y galore at about 5AM. Will definitely shoot for a little later arrival time next year. Walk wasn't unbearable, but it wasn't fun.
We were in puss.ygalore too. All the way in the far corner of it. I found our area seemed to get more breeze and was less crowded. Lots of open space to play frisbee, etc. and some moved all the way to the treeline and camped under the trees. We had a very friendly group as I noticed there were camp areas that weren't as friendly as ours.
The thing that sucked about the walk was the boardwalk from our camp. The boards where thin and my fiance busted through one. I was so worried I was going to fall through and break and ankle but I was lucky.
We had a little mini shakedown area which was cool.
and after we all set up camp everyone around us cracked open a beer and started partying at 6am in the morning. What a way to kick off roo!
I got there from I-24 Thursday at about 6pm. The exits were all blocked by then so we had to drive totally out of Coffee county and then hit some exit that took us on back roads back into Manchester. There was no wait to get it....but we were in camp Dr. Evil.....Pod 11. Far far away. That was by far the worst thing about Bonnaroo to me.....the walk alone wore me out. Next year I'm hoping to get closer so I will have more energy and time to do and see much more.
Anyone else noticing a trend here? The people who showed up on time (i.e. after the gates officially open, aka the time they tell you to come) got good spots. The people who show up late wednesday/way early thursday got shunted off to BFE.
For the record: In line around 1:30, in by 2:15, set up by 3:00. We were in Lando Calrissian, on the corner of 7th and 1st. It was about a 3 minute walk to Centeroo.
I think it is more about how they load in. It's a system that makes the most sense. We had people that showed up at 7am come in the same area as us just right behind us. Some people who got there earlier than us got closer to our sections exit than we did.
It seems the load back to front from left to right all the way across. They don't punish anyone for anything it's merely just a system.
Where you camp is a crap shoot. I've lucked out and gotten fairly ggod sites every time but in '05 my sister and I were within 3 cars of each other and didn't really care if we camped together. I got a site right at the entrance across from tent only (right at Centeroo) and she was camping at the very back (a 30 minute walk from me and the stages). As I said we were a couple cars apart coming in. So where you get is where you get.
About Midnight Wed/Thurs - in the camp close to Pussy Galore (we think) can't remember - it was down the road through the woods across the bridge - about a 15-20 min walk - not bad tho - quiet - fairly peaceful
