Haven't been back to NC in a number of years. Is Kings still the best venue? Is the sound at the Ritz still absolute trash? Is Cat's Cradle presents still torturing people by forcing them to drive out to Saxapahaw?
Kings is great for certain shows, but I definitely wouldn't call it the best venue...
Haven't been to the Ritz in a while but last time I was there, yes.
And Haw River Ballroom is a gorgeous venue that is well worth the drive for a good show. I saw Pinegrove out there a couple weeks back, and it was beautiful.
Haw River Ballroom is a great venue and I saw a number of great shows there but the location is incredibly annoying considering there are venues actually in the triangle that could be used.
I’ve been going to 1-2 shows a week lately. Love Cats Cradle but didn’t know it was cash only first time I went, that was a bummer. Local 506 is a fantastic small bar venue, Sheer Mag was amazing there. I didn’t find the sound at The Ritz bad but I also have terrible hearing to begin with. Motorco Music Hall is great also. Haven’t been to the Lincoln yet but seeing Sparks there in March so pumped about that.
Will be at either Dinosaur Jr or Beach Bunny on Monday night if anyone wants to say hi

It’s sold out but secondary market isn’t too bad, Dinosaur Jr on the other hand I can’t find any tickets on the secondary market yet, so I’ll probably end up at Beach Bunny
Should I add shows to the OP as multiple folks express they're planning to go, so as to coordinate future meet ups etc? Definitely at least for Charli...

Not sure if I’ll be there in time before the show but I usually go to Wicked Weed before a show at the OP since it’s right there. Might be harder to get in on a Friday with a group though.

I'll probably plan to drive to Black Mountain that Thursday night with my sister after I finish work so I can just work remotely from the mountains Friday and make it into Asheville before dinner time.

Last weekend in February in Asheville we have Umphrey’s McGee playing Friday & Saturday - and at the Orange Peel it’s Pinegrove on Saturday and Parquet Courts on Sunday. Decisions will have to be made.
Probably not going to the Chari show but for a meetup, I would recommend up stairs bar at Barleys. It’s not often that it’s crowded up there and they have a large beer menu. I’m a big fan of Mamacitas, but doing a meetup there would be a little tough with how congested they get on show nights.

I'm within walking distance of Cat's Cradle/506 but won't do indoor shows until the new year (will probably be at Samia with Rummy 500 .) I hope Cradle will utilize the outdoor space behind the building more in the future.
Also down for some sort of hang out in Asheville before or after Charli. Coming up with friends so I'll have to coordinate with them, too.
Currently have tickets for Bon Iver @ Rabbit, Rabbit on 6/25. Will probably end up getting tickets for either the 6/26 Rabbit, Rabbit date, or the 4/12 Wilmington date as well.

I'll be in Asheville for both nights of Bon Iver In June 6/25-26 at Rabbit Rabbit. Flying out from LA to meetup with a gang of BI fans from across the country. Flights are crazy expensive right now, I'm hoping to get round trip in the mid-high $200's...is that possible?
