Ratings will get halved again, causing ABC to drop the televised ceremomy and sell it off somewhere else.
And members will complain the academy doesn't care about the integrity of film without caring to realize the general public do not care about these awards shows anymore.

Honestly trying to decide if I want to watch or not. It's my first time in the States during this time of year since 2012, so it'd be my first time actually watching in a decade. But yeah I feel the lack of enthusiasm big time.

We’re watching it because my GF loves this stuff and loves to live tweet. I’ll toss the best quips in here, if people are interested? She makes it a lot more fun!

Thats why Beyonce is now performing and Gaga is presenting. They need people that will bring the lewks or there wont be any eyeballs watching. When Rachel Zegler wasnt even invited that was a terrible move by them til she got shoved into a presenting role. Considering its just been really difficult for people to have connected with the Oscars the last 2 years, I dont know what they can do now to bring it back. I very much enjoy watching the Sag's moreso because its done in 2 hours flat, no gimmicks or anything.
I cant wait for nobody to watch The Grammys cause its in Vegas this year. It was gonna be ratings suicide for them anyway cause it was supposed to be on a Monday.
I watched King Richard this morning. I had avoided it because it seemed so Oscar-baity. It was good. I don't know that I'll come back to it, though, really. Like a lot of biopics I was just like "wait, that seems like it probably wouldn't go down like that" and I wanted to see a doc/read a book on the subject. Like..
There's a part where Venus is getting the bulk of training and attention and some other guy goes up to Richard and says "you know, your other girl is pretty good too". That felt pretty inauthentic, but whatever. Movie.
There are a lot of queer female representation tonight, between Wanda Sykes and nominees Kristin Stewart and Ariana deBose. As my GF tweeted "Let's go lesbians!"
