Side items all need to go next and I'll eat bacon or sausage over hashbrowns. Hashbrowns are good though. Sausage is more hit or miss but really good sausage is better than bacon.
But if we are talking averages I'll go hash then sausage then bacon.
I like biscuits, but that with brown gravy seems like an odd combo
Biscuits with brown gravy is fine as part of a non-breakfast meal. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast is white gravy, usually either sausage gravy or bacon gravy. It’s not pretty, but it’s delicious.
theres a place near me in Salem MA that has biscuits and sausage gravy as a breakfast food. i would try if i wasnt vegetarian cause now yall have me curious

I had biscuits and gravy with seitan once at the vegetarian institute the Chicago Diner and it was really good! Definitely possible to make it taste good without meat.

so you get to eat a fantastic meal that doesn't involve eating meat. disgusting.
I made those vegetarian biscuits and gravy for the family this morning. It ended up too thick but the flavor was good. I'll have to time it better and use a bit more liquid next time. The kids wouldn't try it but they did enjoy biscuits with butter and jam.

If you’re not vegan, you can substitute sausage gravy for peppered gravy. I did this when I went vegetarian and haven’t looked back since. There’s still butter and milk in it (so obviously not vegan) and just creamy.
If you can’t find it in a restaurant but visit the grocery store, just pick up a pack of Pioneer. It’s cheap and quick and you’ll be happy. Though check the ingredients as I can’t remember if it’s veg-friendly and don’t wanna lie to you. Pretty sure it is though.

ooh that sounds delicious. i’m sure i could find some place in boston or cambridge that serves a vegetarian version of it too.
one person: I don't really eat biscuits and gravy so I'm not sure what kind of gravy they would use
you all: troubling. The effete Yanks will have to pay their crimes
It's about how Northern you are.. if you have any Appalachia in ya, you know that there's a range in biscuits and gravy
For sure. I just call it “country folks” food. I don’t claim Ohio, but even the farm folks here eat this way. And Kansas is neither north or south, but I grew up eating catfish and grits, greens, hocks with beans, hominy, biscuits and gravy etc. I also know how to set my own catfish lines, gut and filet them. How to catch bullfrogs and cut off and then fry up their legs. And how to wring a chicken's neck, scald, pluck and gut it. Some southerners have their delicious country food, but soft city ways.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
