George Porter Jr. came down with it. He does between like 3-6 guest spots and or shows per day/night of Jazz Fest. He was scheduled to do a set with Medeski and Martin tomorrow but obviously everything is off for him.
It’s hot as fuck today, and I have a bit of a head cold (?) so I didn’t walk down to listen to Stevie. I do want to see that set list later tonight to see if it ends up being any indication of what she’ll play at Bonnaroo. Today is the first show since January 2020 so should at least point toward songs they have rehearsed recently. She’s only for a scheduled 90 minutes but JF HL’s usually go 10-20 minutes over.
Tonight is supposed to be Disco Biscuits but I’m going to wait to test before going out. If positive, fucked. If negative, drinking.
EDIT: Both nights were pretty good. Set 4 (#2 last night) was my favorite. Show was running about an hour behind, and I have to be at work for 8:00am while the person I was with had to be at work for 6am today. So we unfortunately had to skip the encore.
