You mean this isn't a forum about comparing the merits of living in Ohio vs. Florida? Honestly at this point I think we can all just be thankful we don't live in Missouri.
[celebrating Christmas with a roaring fire as the snow falls gently outside] this would be a lot better if we strung lights on a palm tree like a Corona commercial
Wife and I travel to Florida or gulf shores every Christmas to sit on the beach. We love it
As someone who lives in a penthouse in Paris, France, where I throw expensive parties for beautiful models every night with the finest of wines and cheeses, I think I have everyone beat here.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
When I was in CT a couple weeks back I passed a girl on the sidewalk who had her extra $175 of clothing on and a hot coffee on her morning walk to work. I stupidly said hello as we passed. Of course she wasn't going to remove her red face and ears from being burrowed inside the neck of her jacket to greet someone! Silly me! Her life looked so enviable I couldn't wait to look up the cost of living difference to see if I could make it work.
i would assume being someplace where you can pretend the girls ignore you because it's too cold to talk would be a nice break from your usual routine
I love Cedar Point, it's been at least 15 years tho. Probably changed dramatically since then.
It's changed, but all for the better. The newer rides, including upgrading the Mean Streak (now Steel Vengeance), are top class. Millennium Force is still one of my favorites, but there are five better, newer coasters since that debuted.
I rent a nice one bedroom apt for $800/month. On any given night I can take the bus downtown to enjoy local music, cuisine, theater, sports, museums, or parks. On the weekends I can jump into any of our thriving local scenes - edm, hardcore, metal, singer/songwriter, etc. There's a coffee shop that has live jazz 5 nights a week on my block. We have one of the densest urban neighborhoods in the country, Over-the-Rhine, which features some of the best examples of Italian and Art-Deco architecture in the US. This morning I got breakfast & coffee from a pay-as-you-can neighborhood spot where the guy knows my name even when I don't come back for months. When I do want to get away I'm within 5 hours of drive distance of 8 major cities.
Society has tricked you into hating Ohio, and you have followed blindly like a sheep.
Idk the numbers but it has to be like literally twice as expensive to live and survive in SoCal compared to North Florida
Not quite, but cost of living is 65% higher in LA and 55% higher in SD. Unfortunately, a lot of people realized how elite Florida is since the pandemic and our cost of living has come up a bit. But still drastically lower than SoCal to your point.
Theses elite are anti-vaxxers and election deniers.

Feels nice seeing you resort to a point that doesn't land in reality.

I really miss Disaster Transport. I'd take that big friendly grey shed over the fucking B&M RC Tycoon monstrosity Gatekeeper any day.

If ever a coaster needed that RMC treatment it was Mean Streak

France sucks buddy.
Sorry, I can’t hear you over the dulcet tones of Yo-Yo Ma, the renowned cellist I’ve hired to play my party in my apartment. (It overlooks the Seine with beautiful views of the Invalides and la Tour Eiffel.) Emily Ratajkowski is here, and I’m feeding her grapes. She says they’re delicious.
