Any good Who stage recommendations? Anyone do a genre breakdown?
I need to find some smaller acts.
I’ll second or third the vote for Garcia Peoples. I recommend the live videos. If you’re into them, I’d also recommend Daniel Donato, which has a similar psych/jam feel but a little more country.
Two others I like but haven’t listened to as much — Mac Saturn (more in the funk vein of things) and Sparkle City Disco (like it sounds, disco-influenced DJs). Not much else has grabbed me yet.

No replacement for Luda could mean they don't have replacement acts of his size available (yet). They must have backup headliners and smaller bands available when someone cancels, but LN acts might be different.
I wonder if they'll let someone play 2 sets (or let Pigeons play a long set) or just push someone up (Black Tiger Sex Machine???) and announce a smaller replacement.
Could also be that this is very new and they haven't gotten the chance yet to finalize a replacement act. It'll end up being Dillon Francis who plays instead of him.

I just saw an advertisement about BlackStar releasing their new album which it’s been 24 years since one. They were at Roo 10 years ago too just like Luda. It would be a great replacement for me at least.
Honestly, I have no expectation that they'll replace Luda in the lineup. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even bother to fill the late night slot. They honestly seem to be running on autopilot.
To be fair, their even acknowledging his absence is a step in the right direction. I feel like in past years they wouldn't even announce that somebody dropped.
Legitimately bummed I can't go to half full Bonnaroo. Sure, their communication and online presence has cratered, and the line-up is a shadow of the 2020 and 2021 versions, but the sightlines will be dope.

At least since I've been attending that's not true at all, they made announcements when Shpongle cancelled in 2017 as well as Brockhampton in 2018, there are probably others I'm forgetting too.

I agree. In 2016, they had no problem leaving the Which stage dark on Saturday night. I’m guessing Luda was in a tent and Flume is Which LN this year, so they’ll just adjust the tents accordingly. I don’t see them replacing an act at half-attendance, which explains why they buried the news in a fleeting Instagram story and didn’t make a separate post calling attention to it (and naming a replacement). It’s a bummer and I hope we’re wrong.
Off topic, this meditation guy Jay Chetty seems to have a following though? Anyone familiar with him? I’m not in the loop on this type of thing.

There have been a lot of times over the years where we've been like, 'did so-and-so disappear off the lineup?' and they did, in fact, covertly disappear. I haven't been tracking it or anything and it hasn't been anybody that I was likely to see since The Ting Tings like a million years ago. So I don't have evidence to back up my memory on this. Maybe someone else can help me out here. (Or not. It's only to give the festival mild credit for communicating something.)
there are four co-organizers and includes the original superjam curator, okeechobee's co founders, umphree's mcgee's manager, and the guys that started deer creek. being a hoosier i'm very excited about this because these guys sound like they know what they're doing

I complained about this last year. Artists kept disappearing and switched to different days without them mentioning it. Including schedule changes.
I appreciate them mentioning Luda, but them sending a link to the "updated" lineup is kinda silly if there's no replacement. Maybe it's because he's a relatively bigger name? Don't think we lost any significant bands last year.

Guys I think they've just been holding on to the Luda announcement. They wanted to get the backlash over with the day before the schedule drops and Three-6-Mafia is sitting in that spot. 1pm est schedule? Lets do this.

I don’t know if it was like this yesterday, but they’ve split out a question on when the plaza schedule will be available, indicating it may come out later/after the Centeroo schedule. Gives me hope they’ll split the announcements this year and give us the main schedule first/sooner:

I got our slot in. It isn't exactly what I wanted, there was some lackluster communication that caused some issues, but I'm still happy and grateful to have it. I think they're working on getting it finalized for next week hopefully. The activities schedule may come separately for all I know, it wasn't really clear either way.

This is great news! I’ve been following your posts and felt super bad they put your requests on the back burner, when I know you tried to follow up with them every few weeks for the last several years. I know many people were involved in the scheduling process, and maybe nobody did anything intentional to try and screw you over but it sucked nonetheless that you were made to feel like your plans were insignificant when you’re one of Bonnaroos most vocal supporters. Regardless, I’m very excited things have worked themselves at and I can’t wait to finally meet ya in person at your party. ☺️
Ugh. It's a mess. I don't want to rehash it too much, it's depressing and distressing. I honestly have not slept well the last few nights over it. Sharla and Brook and others close to me will tell you, I throw myself full send into something I'm passionate about. It's not a good combination when you're putting that much of yourself into something and are trying to work with some gatekeeper that barely gives it a thought.
Anyways we are going to make the best of it. I'm not 100% sure what it's going to look like now, but I do know we're going to have it and it will be awesome anyways. This week I've also been looking into how to best spend that other 20% of Patreon money which is going to come out to around $250 or so, we should have some cool stuff to give away to everyone with it.
At our Mini Roo last year, we had a mixed drink for everybody. We weren't fancy enough for it to be a Sex on the Beach, so we called it a Handjob in the Creek.

I know its been a lot for you to organize so far, but do you still plan to have campground dj sets before flipturn?
