Molchat Doma on Sunday is going to be a dark dance party.
this is cool. We're they on the 2020 lineup with the Russian name or spelling?
They weren't it appears. They pretty much blew up over the pandemic thanks in part to Tik Tok. They went from never performing in the US to now playing to 1k+ capacity venues.

no, that was Leningrad; Coachella was going to be one of their final shows IIRC so it's not surprising they didn't come back. Molchat Doma's name looks pretty similar in Cyrllic: Молчат Дома
Also, I mentioned it in the other thread, but I really do want to give a shout out to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - she's a Japanese singer who's a close collaborator the producer Yasutaka Nakata, who also produces for Perfume. But Perfume and Kyary's aesthetics are polar opposites - the former has a sci-fi look and sound with technologically advanced stage design whereas Kyary often has high-energy songs with over-the-top colorful visuals and costumes, often with backup dancers. Perfume at Coachella 2019 was one of my favorite shows ever; hyping this up to the same level already would be nuts but guaranteed: it's going to be a lot of fun.
I was just listening to this lady today and saw her name in the small print. Very much enjoy this song. Nilüfer Yanya is a British artist with Turkish and Barbados heritage. Had an album in 2019 called Miss Universe that got some good reviews. This is the new single. More:
Griselda Is a Hip Hop collective out of Buffalo, New York. Made up of members Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher and Armani Caesar (plus a couple other artists that no longer perform with the group). Billed criminally low. (from Medium) They are most known for a grimey boom-bap style that features gruesome, yet witty lyrics and menacing beats. What Griselda brings to the table is the “I don’t give a f flavor that hip hop originally brought to the world. The group is often referred to as the group that brought Vinyl back to the Hip Hop music scene. Conway recently announced he is retiring from music somewhat soon, so this may be one of the last times to catch them all perform together. Personally, saw them at Day N Vegas 2020 and they killed it. Would absolutely see them again, 45 minutes of straight rap.

RINA SAWAYAMA is a Japanese-British singer songwriter whose pop tunes touch on everything from nu metal to R&B to club beats to teen pop. She's got two shows in SF that are currently going for $250+ on Stubhub. She is a fucking force to be reckoned with and I am unfathomably pumped she's playing the festival. Her entire album SAWAYAMA is worth checking out but here are a couple tunes:
Beach Bunny make absolutely infectious pop punk music with a charming feel to it. They've gotten even better live over the years and are blowing up right now. They sold out quite a few shows in good sized venues on their last tour. Watch for them to get even bigger on their next record.

Danny Elfman was the singer for Oingo Boingo and also scores some really popular movies and TV shows. He does the soundtracks to most of Tim Burton's movies. Some popular soundtracks are Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Batman (90s), and The Simpsons.
In 2020 he posted that this show would be titled Past, Present and Future. From Boingo to Batman and Beyond!
here's a tweet where he describes it:
here's a newish song that he originally planned to debut at coachella:
Here are some Oingo Boingo songs:
here are some orchestral videos:
Bonus: here's Billie Eilish performing as Sally with Danny Elfman:

Måneskin is a glam rock band from Italy that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 and came in second for Italy's XFactor. They went viral because it looked like they were doing blow in the artist area after their show, but it was false.

The Hu is a Mongolian folk rock and heavy metal band formed in 2016. With traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur, the Tovshuur, and Mongolian throat singing, the band calls their style of music "hunnu rock", hu inspired by the Hunnu, an ancient Mongol/Turkic empire, known as Xiongnu in Mongolia. Some of the band's lyrics include old Mongolian war cries and poetry.
Mannequin Pussy is a fiery woman fronted punk rock band with some real bangers, they opened for Japanese Breakfast last year on the first leg of their Jubilee tour and are set to tour this winter and spring.
Nathy Peluso is a cool Argentine singer based in Barcelona. Her live but videos look pretty nuts. She's got a bit of a Rosalia vibe and is primed for a big blowup.
Viagra Boys play ugly but play good. Post Punk that reminds me of early Nick Cave work with the same gratuitous attitude. They don't compromise their live performance so it should be a fun treat. Oh, and they have a mean sax player to boot.
Spiritualized is Jason Spaceman of Spacemen 3 and he/they play beautiful space rock. They've got a new album coming out in Feb and will likely play a lot from it (they're playing all of it on their headlining sets and did the same thing with their last record) plus a few older songs.
Jason no longer stands on stage, instead sitting down and usually facing sideways while playing guitar and singing. He doesn't talk to the audience, just claps a little when he walks on and off, so don't expect him to be super engaging. However, he will probably have a choir and orchestra backing and the arrangements will be sublime. I've seen them 10 times and will see them again any chance I get. That said, the two times at Coachella (2008 and 2013) were not very well attended and not among my favorite performances of theirs. Here's hoping this time is a charm.
First single from the new album, they'll almost certainly play this:
Full set from their last tour. Set list will be very different on this tour but it gives a good feel for their live show.
