I think you put Fatboy Slim against Doja Cat and parts of Jamie XX. He’ll still have a full tent against those artists. Putting Solomun or the B2B against Jamie seems dumb. I’d have it go B2B - Fatboy - Solomun with Fred Again playing the Mojave around sunset and ending right around the time the B2B starts.
I could be wrong but isn’t the most popular Yuma name usually second to last?
There are no rules when it comes to Yuma set times IMO. Stuff is all over the place, it just depends on what live acts are playing at the same time. They don’t want situations where everyone leaves the Yuma to see someone outside.
Saturday of 19 saw Idris 3rd billed scheduled against Aphex, but also had the number one billed act of that day Tale of Us playing 3rd to last against Four Tet. The number 2 billed act Deep Dish played 4th to last and the 4th billed act Stephen Bodzin played last.
In my absolute stupidity, I forgot that Madeon confirmed for the Outdoor at sunset-ish in 2020. Of course things can change, and we won't be adding that to the OP unless it gets re-confirmed for 2022, but we should probably move him there for now.
FWIW re: Madeon he just confirmed he will get to bring his full screen at all shows except one, which wasn't Coachella.
Apparently this show show the set-up:
Since it's his screen he's bringing and not just the visuals themselves, that rules out Sahara and he's not getting main after dark - so Mikey, I think sunset-ish on the outdoor would be a logical place to put him even if he wasn't confirmed there.

I like Madeon on the outdoor more than the Sahara, but think we need to make sure it’s dark when he plays and not the Gorgon City 2019 sunset slot.
Unrelated but I noticed Viva Presents (Sonora Bookers) had Eyedress headline the most recent Viva Pomona. I would assume that means they’re booked for the Sonora too on Sunday.

You currently have Lil Baby and City Girls in the same time which will 100% not happen.
Easy fix is switch him and Daniel even though it would be weird for #3 to be on the outdoor and not close it.
I know we all put our foot in the ground somewhere and mine is I don’t see Lil Baby opening up for Harry Styles when outdoor closer is right there. LTK can rock the Sahara and end 25 mins before SHM and one of Big Sean/Baby Keem can close it after Lil Baby is done.
If we treat Lil Baby as the #3 of the day since SHM is playing this day, he could be like Travis Scott and close the outdoor, but I am not really getting the logic of why so many people think he won't play the main either like Future and Tyler did. Especially if Harry gets the longer set up time that many headliners have been getting. Am I missing a reason?

I'm split on this. I do think they've made more of an effort for the act leading into the headliner to fit with that act. Bon Iver into Gaga was the last time there was a real mismatch there IMO (or HAIM into Beyonce arguably), and I do think Daniel Caesar is a better fit for Harry Styles than Lil Baby. Also, in 2015 we had a #4 lead into Jack White; same thing would happen here if it's Caesar. Lil Baby works a little better if there's an act between him and Harry Styles (like Future or Tyler), but that would mean having a lower billed act after him, or SHM not actually closing the stage.
I could really see it going either way, but as I'm writing this I'm convincing myself of Baby on the Outdoor actually.

Like Braun said both acts had acts before them. I would accept Lil Baby - SHM- Harry but we are assuming SHM is closing so that’s out. It would just be a very massive blunder that is easy to avoid AND has precedence. The only way I see Lil Baby going into Harry is if his team demanded it. Also just a big confusion because if it was supposed to be Rage then SHM then RTJ would be Friday not Sunday. So it’s like did they have to switch this last minute because RTJ into Harry is even weirder????
A lot of questions but as long as Lil Baby’s team isn’t demanding main stage then I don’t see why he doesn’t close outdoor.

Moved him to the Outdoor at 7:45, which is usually about the time it gets completely dark.
Ahh good find regarding Eyedress. I'll put em in the Sonora.

If we can lock down Big Sean and Lil Baby’s stage then this day should come together much easier. Would be interesting if they just stacked the Sahara with hip/hop for the night and moved Louis the Child and Madeon to the bigger outdoor stages.
Future wasn't on directly before the headliner, neither was Tyler and his crowd still ended up being terrible. I think it's a terrible idea to have Lil Baby on directly before Harry. If anyone saw the Lorde into Kendrick transition, I feel like it would be that but 100x worse. Harry's fan base is intense.
I currently have Phoebe -> Big Sean -> Daniel Caesar-> Harry -> SHM on main Lil Baby closing Outdoor Baby Keem closing Sahara Coachella has had weird arrangements before so we'll see, but as far as the rappers go, this makes the most sense to me. Big Sean, although does have tons of hype music, has a lot of non hype stuff too so he's the most likely "not in the Sahara" out of the bunch to me. Will likely have Drake, Eminem, Jhene Aiko, 2Chainz, among others as guests. That feels main stage to me
I’m a Coachella vet and I love the second lines for my taste. But as in trying to see who is “a guaranteed main stage act” I don’t see any big dogs with touring track records.
Doja will 100% be main stage after keeping her on the lineup with a massive boost from her original booking to #1 sub on sunday

I also vote for a Tokimonsta - Black coffee stage swap. Her recent hometown LA show was very low attended and not a Sahara vibe. She can do the Gobi tbh

What I did for now instead is have the Yuma end with Solomun -> b2b -> Fatboy. Thoughts?

Man, Black Coffee in the Sahara seems so wrong to me. But if I'm alone here, we can make it happen.
Ok hah as much as I don't really think Lil Baby is off the main, I'm willing to go with it but what I really don't understand is Big Sean not in the Sahara. Maybe I'm missing one, but I cannot think of one instance where the "8 years ago nostalgia" rapper, for lack of a better word, did not play Sahara. Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Kid Cudi, YG...once again what makes Big Sean different from those acts? It's not billing, Gucci and YG and Cudi were second line, it's not vibe, Cudi has plenty of mellow songs. I just cannot see the reasoning behind why he'd be mainstage.

I don’t have an argument for that because I don’t consider any of those as nostalgia acts besides Wiz. They were all popular. YG had FDT, French had unforgettable, Gucci was out of jail on his first tour, and this Is Big Seans first tour post hiatus. So I don’t look at them the way you look at them.

Not that this means everything, but I was looking at the 2020 predictions, and we had Big Sean close the Sahara on that one too. I think Big Sean in the Sahara makes a lot of sense, but I'm not glued to it.

Nostalgia not quite the right word - aside from French and Irreplaceable, though, none of those acts had their biggest songs of their career at that time. All of them other than Gucci broke through in that 2010-2015 era - Gucci debuted in 2005 but his crazy run was more 2009 - yeah they were all popular still hence why they were booked but a big appeal was also kids who were 25 getting to party to their college anthems again. Obviously not telling you anything you don't know already, but I just think they all fit the same pattern. Sure some people are still interested in his new stuff but a lot of that crowd just wants to party to Dance, Blessings, and IDFWU.
Sometimes Paul T just is on autopilot - and he's put these same rappers in the same slot in the same tent for the last several years - just not sure what the reason is to shake up the pattern.
