I really hope they move some of Sunday's rap to Friday/Saturday, it's too much for one day. They did this in 2019 too and I have no idea why. 2020 they were going to load up all the rock into Friday too. Is their logic, "load up the genre to match that day's headliner"? Because that seems kinda backwards to me. They should sprinkle more of said genre into days without the headliner of said genre, to have something for those fans throughout the whole weekend. Not just one day out of three. Maybe they do it to attempt to prevent camping? I guess that would somewhat make sense, but if the artist is as big as Ye, they're gonna camp regardless I'm sure. It'll only take away from the crowds of any rap act who is playing after 6-7pm imo. And this year that would be some heavy hitters like RTJ.
I think these guys may actually open the Yuma and not SOHMI on Friday. I see no reason why they shouldn’t be in there if Monolink and Ross from Friends were able to do it. That should give you 9 artists in Yuma for Friday now without using Black Coffee or Purple Disco Machine.
Edit: this was recorded at Sound Nightclub. They are definitely Yuma bound.

Have we considered that they might still be negotiating where SHM is playing? It would kinda make sense with their weird billing and that they wouldn’t comment on it to variety.
Agree there’s something weird going on with the story. Variety isn’t an S tier industry rag, but they’re reputable enough it’s strange they ran this story and no one from SHM or the fest said “no dummies, they’re playing Friday.” Makes me think one side or the other is feeding it to them. But for this thread you gotta keep them on Friday until the website says otherwise
I mean it might be true - this release was wild - you can kind of see Paul just wanting to get the fucking poster out and deal with the placements later. On the app it looks like some big acts are already switching days, and there were also rumors posted here (don't remember if the source was reputable) that they weren't just chasing a headliner but booking other big acts last minute in case SHM had to be relied on to sell it out. Pure conjecture, but I could see them booking a not-rumored at all act like Lil Baby in a sub spot at the last minute, throwing him on the poster, and then figuring out the schedule from there even if it meant moving people around.

Not that Im a rumor source but I thought Lil Baby would be here considering DaBaby wouldn’t, he wasn’t at Rolling Loud LA (neither was Roddy which makes his exclusion more of a head scratcher), and GV’s relationship with QC (Migos, Cardi, City Girls)
This was mentioned in the main Coachella thread, but there was a minor poster update that bumped Griselda up a line on Sunday. Whythelongface pointed out that acts like Jamie xx (who are billed on the poster for one day, but the lineup page for another day) would have probably been moved with the poster update, so it makes the most sense to leave them where they are (on the poster) for now.

In the past there have been sometimes weeks delays with acts that moved days before the poster was changed - they are probably trying to figure it all out before changing. But yes - I think until the poster changes it's safe to keep people on the poster days, and it's safe to keep SHM on Friday until they change on the artist page.

I brought this up on Reddit but I don’t think they ever altered the poster in 2016 when ASAP Rocky changed days. I think it’s substantially more difficult to do poster alterations for second line artists. Granted I still don’t think we should move any app differences at this point. If the app still isn’t changed by March then we should probably start considering it to be something other than an error.
i just thought that was a case of them looking at the poster and seeing SHM listed at the bottom of Sunday
feels like they were gonna close after rage originally (explains ingrosso saying that) and it could be more up in the air now. the pitchfork thing doesnt make that much sense since you'd be able to see both Ye and SHM anyway but after 20+ years it would also be crazy if they didn't know how to read a Coachella poster.
I missed Swedish House Mafia entirely when I first looked at the lineup.
Hah - me as well - I started laughing to myself thinking SHM really did drop before the lineup release. Five minutes later I saw them and was like "Oh, Sunday!". Then saw it was clarified they are playing Friday.

What is a slight surprise for myself, I just got confirmation that Solomun is also playing the Yuma. Kind of weird that the Yuma has so many acts for the shortest day.
Edit: Upon further research it looks like Satori is doing a live show and may be outside the Yuma. Granted I think Sunday of 2018 had 10 Yuma acts.

Ahh thank you for this. Adding to the OP and changing soon on the schedule.
Satori was on the 2020 Yuma poster. There have been a few live acts that played there recently, and Dear Humans is a live act that is confirmed to play in there this year as well.
