just to start a conversation, while I could totally see CRJ on the Main Stage around when we have her, if it were up to me personally (as in if I were organizing the fest, not the set times predictions), that isn't where I would put her. When I saw her at Outside Lands, half the crowd didn't know any of her songs and after she played Call Me Maybe about 2/3rds of the way through the set, there was an enormous mass exodus, to the point where it was legit distracting for 5-10 minutes trying to keep watching the show while people were filing out all around me. She was still killer but it definitely detracted from the experience.
what are people's thoughts on the possibility of her closing a tent after Harry Styles? I don't think it would be all that bad for her to conflict with SHM and it would honestly do her crowd a huge service by drawing away all the people who aren't dedicated (pun intended) fans. I won't claim to know what CRJ would prefer, but I kinda think it would make sense from her perspective too, getting to play a show to her diehard fanbase (which she ~will~ undoubtedly pull, no matter where she is) without having to deal with the typical pitfalls of having a massive crowd that's there solely to see That One Song far bigger than the rest of her discography.
again it's not unreasonable to put her on the main stage, but I'd be so much more excited for that show if she was closing the Gobi or the Mojave. no way she's at the same time as Harry obviously, but the popheads (who I don't think are necessarily a perfect overlap with SHM's crowd) might want a place to go after his show, and CRJ would be a perfect option.
bumping my take since it's relevant again, I think she'd be ~ fine ~ on Main/Outdoor during the day but imo she'd be best suited for a tent at night with counter programming so you don't have a bunch of people there who don't actually know her music. the only thing is I doubt she ever conflicts with Harry, so that limits where she could go at night realistically
however I have also thought a bit more about this and I think probably Kim Petras is more likely to be a pop tent closer than CRJ

Going back to Caroline Polachek, I definitely see her in Koffee's 3:30pm Outdoor spot. I feel like Koffee would do just fine in the Gobi, whereas Caroline will draw a more sizable crowd overall
Arlo Parks: 4/4:30ish Crumb: "later in the day" is all I could get IDLES, The Marias, Molchat Doma: all said they didn't have them yet/were waiting on them also.

Moved C.P. to the Outdoor, Koffee to Mojave and Japanese Breakfast to the Gobi.
Don’t know about 7pm but she’s either going to be later than you have her or upgraded from Sonora.
If you’re looking for ideas to tinker with I’d also say move Caroline Polachek out of the Gobi. She’s a critical darling, Tik Tok famous, opening for Dua on tour. She’d maybe work where you have her but I’d bump her to at least the Mojave (and maybe put Freddie Gibbs where you have Caroline).
Moved her to the Outdoor, but do we think she makes more sense in the Mojave vs Outdoor?
Monday night if we're lucky but normally tuesday. If they dont come out til Weds then somebody had some drama that needed sorting like in 2016 when Ellie Goulding didnt want to be 3rd on main.
wasn't that LCD wanting to close?
It was LCD being cool with Jack U closing after them on main. Ellie didnt didnt want to be 3rd on the schedule, she saw it as a demotion apparently.

I’d prefer Outdoor but I think it’ll be Mojave personally
lol tbh "reddit mod" kinda makes me trust it less, one of them famously claimed Chainsmokers were going to headline
It feels like such a weird set time for them, but no reason why we shouldn’t go with the rumor until we have something more concrete that proves us wrong. We always have a few head scratchers every year.

FWIW, they have 7:00pm listed on their website for Coachella, but they do not have 7:00 listed for every show, including others that have multiple acts on them/are festival-ish. That said, it's still fairly uniform times and I still sorta doubt it: www.thehuofficial.com/tour-1
continuing to play with things - I think VNSSA will be in the Yuma on Saturday. Wasn't on the 2020 lineup, but definitely fits in there. She's billed for it. Helps solve the lack of Yuma artists on this day as well. I'd put her right where she's billed, between Paco Osuna and Sama' Abdulhadi.
More thoughts about Saturday - Since girl in red is confirmed main, I would bump Hot Chip before Elfman since closer to sunset on a stage makes more sense for them anyways. Isaiah Rashad could probably go in a tent during the day. Acts like Arlo Parks and Cuco seem more appropriate on Outdoor. Also, still feels like we need to have Caribou or Koze closing a tent.

Only thing that brings me hesitation on that front is that he wasn't on the Yuma lineup in 2020. I so hope he brings his live set. My soul needs that show at Coachella.
