Agree with both of you, I really hope somehow Lil Baby ends up on the Outdoor Maybe we can get lucky and have Lil Baby go 2nd to last on the Outdoor and Louis just starts really late like BASSNECTAR 2019 Big Sean -> Phoebe -> Daniel -> Harry on Main would feel ideal to me Snoh -> Grupo -> Lil Baby -> gap to let Harry go solo for awhile -> Louis The Child close the Outdoor Baby Keem closing the Sahara
Highly unlikely but this would feel the best to me.

This is how my mock looks for the most part.
I don't believe any act billed #2 on their day has ever played the Outdoor and not closed it.

I would say stick to your pick using the law of averages approach. I’m likely wrong, but just thought this flowed better across all stages after removing 70-90 minutes of music for this day. Plus Lil Baby technically wasn’t a number 2 he was originally a number 3 before Ye dropped.
If Billie Ellish can play outdoor Lil Baby certainly can too.
He's more popular rn than she was in 2019
Respectfully, not with average Coachella festival attendee he’s not. Billie had the largest outdoor crowd I’ve ever seen. Granted I went W2 and that album had another week to circulate after coming out the first week of April if memory serves me.
Regardless, you’re probably right that he’s playing the main, and it’s pointless to argue about this so agree to disagree.
Her debut album that dropped a few weeks before her performance is currently 4x platinum Lil Baby's most recent album is already 4x platinum.
I implore you to just go look at Google trends and perform a comparison. You’re going to laugh at how far off you are. At his most popular point these last five years he was being searched at a mere 27% of the amount that Billie was being searched in April of 2019. He’s very popular, but not in the same stratosphere as Billie.
I really like the BROCKHAMPTON move to outdoor sunset, that has the makings of being truly legendary. I also like RTJ being moved to Mojave, that looks ideal for me personally. If only Stromae vs Caribou was actually the worst I needed to worry about in real life...great job as always Mikey, thanks for this year's bang-up job
alright, we're getting close, so my mock schedule:
Friday: Jean Dawson-a song of Raveena-Arooj Aftab-15 minutes of Tokimonsta-Carly Rae Jepsen-a bit of BBNG-Slowthai-Phoebe-Black Coffee-Madeon-a bit of Lil Baby on the way to-Daphni-King Gizz-The Avalanches-end of Harry
Saturday: Yard Act-a bit of Current Joys-Mannequin Pussy-DJ Holographic-L'imperatrice-girl in red-Rina Sawayama-Nilufer Yanya-end of Hot Chip-beginning of Koffee-Caroline Polachek-Floating Points/Megan Thee Stallion-Danny Elfman-Turnstile-Caribou-Disclosure
Sunday: Channel Tres-Viagra Boys-end of Dave-Denzel Curry-(hoping Prospa plays the Do Lab in this slot lol)-Maggie Rogers-Fred again..-Fatboy Slim/Doja Cat-Jamie xx-SHM & Weeknd/walk around soaking up the end of another great year
looking forward to a conflict none of us thought was possible that both breaks my heart and makes the rest of the day fairly easy to chart
In all seriousness, the reasons I like this every year is because it's fun to talk about music, it's fun to build the hype, it's a fun puzzle, and it helps expose me to new artists when I look at a mock and realize I wouldn't have anything to see during a certain slot and check some stuff out that we have mocked for that time. I find something that way every year and they've turned into some of my favorite artists and favorite sets at Coachella. And more broadly, seeing the different permutations of our predictions helps me get my head around possible conflicts and start figuring out what acts are most important to me. Another thing that happens to me every year is realizing an act that I didn't think I wanted to prioritize keeps winning hypothetical conflicts during our predictions, and it always makes my festival better. I enjoy this every year. Thanks to Mikey for wrangling this process yet again, and to all y'all for making it fun even as we bitch at each other.
Looking forward to the last few days of yelling and confirmations. We're almost back!
a third thing that going through my schedule made me realize: Raveena and Arooj Aftab conflicting seems very unlikely. Two female South Asian artists on the lineup going head to head is the kind of thing they're good at avoiding.
