Disaster from a conflict standpoint or crowd control standpoint?
My own personal wants and needs, so likely means you're close to realistic and I'll just be big mad
Gotcha… I did my best to spread out the genres being impacted, but Saturday and Sunday were just difficult to do without having a few brutal conflicts. Friday felt a lot easier, but I’m probably way off with still treating Lil Baby like he’s a number 3 on his day.
I have, I hate it, but the crowds are the least of my issues there. I'd put that issue below the sound quality, festival layout, and set times, and probably more if I thought about it. Man, I hate that festival, and I kind of resent it for having consistently just good enough lineups to get me back on occasion.
It's an exasperating festival whose security is so poor (we have walked in with a bottle of Fireball or wine, not a flask, multiple times before) that it actually makes me nervous - but at least the food and wine selections are top tier. That's about all I can say for it. Other than that it is watching bands perform half heartedly while you stand shivering in a sweatshirt behind a tree or on a hill next to a group of 50 drunk high schoolers, while ducking out an hour early on the off chance that a Muni bus will have enough space to get you home within 2 hours.
88 Rising could def be earlier on the Main like 4 or 5, Rich Brian night Mojave. I wonder how many of their artists will actually be present for it and how many songs per artist. 88 Rising has a very diverse sound between the artists so I wonder how that will mesh into one set.

We have to keep somebody in the Sahara. This day just doesn’t have a lot of options for that stage.
Regarding 88rising, I think it makes more sense to feature them at sunset on the Main than Giveon. It’s to Goldenvoice’s benefit to give them as prime as a slot as possible with them also putting on Head in the Clouds.

If OSL had better sound it would def make the drunk kiddies much more tolerable. They should pay off all those residents who think 3 days of noise out of 365 is like torture. I dont mind the layout, thats apart of it being on the terrain and you cant really complain about the weather. Schedules are going to stink one way or another for somebody at any given fest. Speaking of which, theyre really late on the lineup drop. Range Dave must have covid or something.

I went to OSL for the first time this past october, and it was the most noticeably rude crowd I've ever been in. That + the sound not being great are probably gonna keep me from going back this year.
