“Knowing what our rough set time is now and where we’ll be playing this year, yeah, 14-year-old me actually is freaking out because we saw Tame Impala in that spot years ago.”
Tame played at 5:50 on the Outdoor in 2011. I'd say we put them in Hot Chip's spot (the same as Tame's in 2011), move Hot Chip to BROCKHAMPTON's (since we had "hot chip sunset outdoor" confirmed at one point anyway), move BROCKHAMPTON to the Mojave where Caribou is now (we don't have any hip hop right now from 10-12pm), move Caribou to where Wallows was.
Either that or get Brock to early afternoon main or Sahara sometime, but the above is my personal preference.
Yep, I had already moved Wallows to Hot Chip's previous spot, but a part of me wants to leave Brockhampton on the Outdoor......I dunno, I'm also fine with your suggestion...Probably better to stick with a 2020 confirmation?

I mean it's all guesswork. Part of why I selfishly love my prior suggestions is because it moves Caribou out of a conflict with Stromae. But I think there are some benefits to Brockhampton as well - they get the old Sahara production to play with (and I'm guessing they don't have much of their own production given these are one-off shows), and they don't have people leaving early to go catch Megan Thee Stallion or another one-off collective in 88rising.
I think you could just swap Benjamin and Maneskin, to be honest.
Has anyone billed that high (aside from Banda groups) ever played the Main that early?
Nile Rogers w/ Chic played at 3:55, which is not far off from where we'd have Maneskin. Gary Clark Jr was 3rd line like Maneskin and played at 3:35 in 2016. It's not common, but Maneskin is also a weird band.
Got a pitch from Rich Brian's team--no confirmed set time for him (just says Saturday Evening), but they did confirm that the 88 Rising showcase will be on the MAIN STAGE (no specific day listed)

Was curious as to what Hayden James’s set will look like and noticed that framework commented “🦈🦈🦈” on his post with the line up back in January. Probably can move him into Yuma.

88rising is listed as Saturday on the app. What if we book them right before Megan, and have BROCKHAMPTON play the Sahara against 88rising. Playing the Sahara at sunset is still a great set time.
Rich Brian could then go where we had Brockhmapton for the majority of the set times against Flume. Tchami against Megan.

Oh wow okay. He does make more sense for the Yuma, it's just that the Sahara has so few acts on Sunday......

Re: Sunday having a light Sahara, none of these is a perfect fit, but if Channel Tres, Run the Jewels, or Jamie XX landed in the Sahara, it wouldn't be completely unprecedented.

I didn't think I'd ever get this done but the excitement of Coachella coming back pushed me to finish this. I took a stab at trying to make set times myself.
BTW I used historical billing-to-set time placements from 2019-2017 to help create this, basically helped me determine billing range to certain slots.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll send mine tonight once I get back from the office.

Not an insane amount? If you're at a set that promotes high crowd energy, dancing, moshing, jumping around etc. And that crowd is just dead because they're totally disinterested. That has a massive influence on the enjoyment of the show. Crowd participation doesn't matter so much for more chill artists. But imagine a Matt & Kim set with a dead crowd, or a BROCKHAMPTON or Carti set where no one moved? Come on. That's like saying.. YG 2019 would have been just as fun if that Sahara crowd just stood there blank faced
You’re giving me hypothetical situations. In my experience, these made up issues almost never exist.
It happened a lot weekend 1 2018 alone
Those situations absolutely happen, you've had a huge string of luck if you haven't experienced it yet

RTJ vs Fred vs Duck Sauce vs Fatboy Slim is downright cruel.

I would say Run The Jewels is the perfect 2022 Sahara act.
