I saw Blink 182 three times between 2002 and 2005. And, other than Travis’ drum solos, they even sucked back then. I was just too young to know it. Best show was when they got upstaged by Green Day and Jimmy Eat World on the Pop Disaster tour.

Totally agree. I grew up on them and still love them even if my musical taste is quite different now

Every band including Blink on that tour was absolutely fantastic. Have a little fun will ya.

I agree Green Day and Jimmy Eat World fucking ruled. But Blink was by far the weaker band and not that great live.
So who are thinking to headline this then? Dua Lipa, Rage, Frank?
that would be ideal, I do think theres a chance of Dua or Frank being swapped out for Drake, one of the BTS dudes, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Cardi B, Taylor Swift or Rihanna(extremely unlikely)
Was never much of a Blink 182 fan, but you're nuts if you don't think something like "long pause in the middle of 'Stay Together For The Kids' while Mark Hoppus tears up talking about beating cancer and Tom DeLonge talks about how much being back together at Coachella means to him while every Kardashian watches Travis Barker from the front row and millions are watching on a live stream" isn't something that would interest GV.
My Chemical Romance was never "critically acclaimed" lol. Much bigger fan of that band, but that's a pretty convenient label to throw on them now that its confirmed GV/PT had them booked and they've had a bit of a critical re-evaluation given their influence on a lot of the stuff that's actually acclaimed now. People laughed at me a few years ago when I said that would be a booking GV would go after. Not buying "GV would book MCR because they're critical darlings but not Blink 182 even if that reunion is insanely buzzworthy"
They dumped MCR as soon as they had an opportunity for a bigger headliner and that was a complete reunion, not a lineup change. Idk. I don't think they'd do it.

Wait, what? MCR was definitely acclaimed. Black Parade is a 79 on metacritic which is a really solid score. Their greatest hits album is also a 79, and danger days is a 70. Blink has one album above a 70.

Really dont feel they would headline a solo BTS member like Lolla did. J Hope had all that hype of course cause the fans online will make it seem it was the biggest thing in the world but how many people watched it in comparison to Green Day. Just put one of them in the first 5 names and thats cool. Maybe you can just put Frank as the returning to the desert so they dont lose face if/when he drops out.

I think there was a way to have MCR on the poster but they just didnt have it after being put on top to headline in the first place. Not hard to gauge the feelings of the band after being gone for 10 years to just get upended by Rage. Although they were still willing to sign a contract with AEG to perform at Firefly so who knows what theyre ok with doing now. Theyve got the Danny Whimmer route at their disposal so thats 5 headline slots guaranteed.

My Chemical Romance getting back together is a waaaaaayyy bigger deal than crazy Tom DeLonge rejoining blink-182 who never even broke up or stopped touring. Absolutely no way would a DeLonge-blink-182 be able to pull off a tour that’s on the scale of what MCR is doing. Nope, sorry, that’s not comparable.
I really can't wrap my head around how big MCR is. Maybe it's because I was a teenager/young adult when Blink 182 was at their prime, but they just seem way bigger to me.

MCR made the right decision to go the fuck away for a while
