Clark aftershow on the 28th. Definitely hitting that one up.
Would be cool, but that's usually the night Interface is held. Aside from having heavy-hitting techno acts, they usually get some of the good stuff from the festival. In 2015 they had RODHAD and Klock as a special guest. I'd expect Klock, DVS1 and Ryan Elliot to be there. Plus, The Works is a great venue.

God I really love beat driven techno. I know a lot of you have moved beyond it or are bored by it but there is something so comforting but at the same time exciting about it to me. I've been listening to a lot of Chris Liebing lately.
Yea absolutely no reason to leave the fest early for that. I kinda wish I had gone to that 2 years ago instead of Skrillex/Boys Noize/Danny Brown.
Dirtybird after-party 2 years ago was beyond amazing. I plan on getting there at 11pm, I don't want to miss any of those artists. Movement ends at Midnight, correct?
Also, I tried to get you to come to that, but you wouldn't -.-
Yea, well, I had a free all access pass to the other show and got to chill backstage with the whole Skrillex crew, so that part was cool. But the show itself was pretty meh.

I thought that night you went to the casino?
Oh, maybe I did? Well that night was fucking hell in itself. I just remember being in a cab and driving by the Dirty Bird show as it was letting out and wishing I had gone.

Plane ticket bought, so I'm in for this. I'm excited.
Haven't purchased my festival ticket yet, still trying to decide between regular and VIP, maybe somebody can help me out:
-A place to sit and chill is nice, since I'm 35 and my back tends to act up at festivals, so a comfy VIP area would be appreciated, but not mandatory. -Don't care about discount drinks since I don't drink, but an easy bar to snag a red bull from is appreciated. -As a true bonnaroovian, I don't care about air conditioned bathrooms, but they are nice to have. -I'm intrigued by the VIP-only viewing platforms at the stages, can anyone comment on these? Judging by pictures of the festival and generally positive comments regarding the sound, I'm guessing I'd do just fine in the GA areas. Having said that it's always cool to be close.

I had media last year and had access to the VIP area, which is quite nice and a great perk.
However, I found it pretty easy to get close for most sets. I walked right up to the rail at the Redbull stage for Four Tet and The Black Madonna. The Main and Beatport stages can get a bit crowded though, but in the case of the Main it seems like everyone congregates in the back while the front remains quite roomy.
The VIP areas are pretty meh as far as at the stages for viewing, and get very packed. The best perk of VIP is the HUGE grassy area behind the main stage with ample comfortable seating, private bars, massages, hammocks, bathroom trailers, and separate entrance.

thanks. it is nice to have a large area to escape the chaos for a bit. i'll probably purchase VIP, i'm getting on a plane for this so i might as well enjoy myself fully while i'm there.

Anyway now that I'm in, here is my list of want-to-sees:
Richie Hawtin Testpilot Carl Cox (unless he's up against something better) Adam Beyer Belleville Three Ben Klock Carl Craig Chris Liebing Dixon Jamie Jones Joseph Capriati Kai Alce Michael Mayer Pan-Pot Shiba San Stacey Pullen
which i think is pretty much the techno heavy hitters. haven't really dug into the names on the second half of the poster.
Not much announced in the way of after parties yet but that Dirty Bird @ Fillmore looks great, and I'm sure Interface on the same night will be as well. I'm getting in Friday afternoon so definitely want to catch something that night.
Really hope I dont have an issue finding Ubers back into Canada/Windsor late at night each night. From everything I've researched, they'll do it as long as they have an "enhanced" ID, or a passport.

My friends stayed over the border last year, buuuut one of their friends drove them around.

I have a million questions because i'm an obsessive and like to know everything about everything i'm going to, but i'm going to try and space out my inquiries.
So is the underground stage actually underground? How does that work?

It's in some type of parking lot/enclosure. Cool in theory, but the sound is super muddy.

Eh, I wouldnt say "underground", more like a big passage from one side of the park to the other, that goes underneath a large slab of concrete. And it can get VERY moist and sweaty down there at times. If you're gonna see some fucked up shit, it's gonna be at that stage.

The OWSLA stage was down there last year, talk about a horde of Molly goblins.

It kind of sounds like that indoor stage at Day For Night. Sloppy terrible sound and I felt like I was about to get stabbed and shoved into a pile of sewage at any moment.
