The MGM Grand is currently $194/night for Memorial Day weekend 2018. No prepayment, cancel up to 24 hours before check in. I just booked a room for the weekend.
That's still $1,000 after taxes for Fri (checkin) - Tues (checkout). Robbery.
It is, but it seems like there won't be any deals downtown. I'll either suck it up and keep the MGM room or end up in Dearborn. We'll see what happens between now and then.

Get a passport and stay in Canada. So much cheaper and so easy to do with the shuttle.

Also looks like we won't be getting a Movement Getaway this year in Puerto Rico. Not surprising though as the past two years have been pretty lackluster.

and i did cancel my MGM grand rez and booked the Hampton Inn in Dearborn. Total came to $205 for four nights after I used hilton points. vacation time is approved, ticket bought, hotel booked, all i need now is a plane ticket. trying to make my regular decision of (a) drive 2.5 hours to new orleans for the direct flight or (b) just fly out of mobile and connect in atlanta. price wise it comes out the same.
