Yea I feel like they could replace CVS and Loco Dice b2b Martinez Brothers with Dubfire and Modeselektor on the top line and it would make the lineup much more easier to swallow.
Loco Dice and Martinez Brothers are literally the top 2 most overrated techno acts out there right now imo. I can't stand their sets.
The Martinez Brothers pretty much play strictly tech house nowadays it seems like.

So I know the headliners are terrible, and I know there are less big name european techno DJs on the lineup, but after a couple days of research i'm impressed with the undercard.
Ø - obviously psyched Anthony Parasole - NYC bunker techno Avalon Emerson - i don't know what you call her genre but it will be a great set Blake Baxter - detroit techno/house Charlotte de Witte - big room/main stage euro techno Christian Smith - big room/main stage euro techno DJ Hype b2b Hazard - hard dnb DJ Stingray - out there weird techno Dubfire - techno Eats Everything Ellen Allien - techno et. al. Helen Hauff - acid/electro Hito - japanese techno via berlin, vinyl only DJ Ida Engberg - swedish techno (drumcode) John Digweed Joseph Capriati - techno/techhouse KiNK (live) - techno, whatever, it's rad Laurent Garnier - french techno Lee Burridge - deep house/acid house Maceo Plex - techno Marcel Dettman - techno Mike Huckaby - techno Nina Kraviz - techno Phuture (live) - acid house
Antenes - techno Aurora Halal (live) - techno Carlos Souffront b2b Bill Converse - techno Eris Drew - techno/house
all the above are acts i'm legit excited to see, and i haven't even gotten into most of the smaller names yet. and being honest with myself, last year the only headliner i caught was Hawtin, and even that was just a partial set.
it won't hurt my feelings if nobody else on inforoo comes to movement, and I know it sucks to not have those one or two big names at the top to draw you in, but it actually is a fantastic undercard.

It's definitely not a terrible, bad or even mediocre lineup, but it just looks weak coming off the insanely stacked 2016. Out of your list, I'd really love to see Avalon Emerson, KiNK (one of the best freaking electronic music performers out there, such a joy), Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettman, DJ Stingray, Helena Hauff, HITO, Laurent Garnier and Maceo Plex.

I'm still torn. Waiting to see if they're going to hire me to do house photography since im dissolving FestivalSnobs and dont have an outlet to shoot for.

I hope they do, you're better than pretty much every house photographer I've seen. Good luck.

Eh I dunno, Detroit has some dope ones that crush me. Here's a few:
...well, those are some good photographers. Still, Danny Daze had your photo as his profile photo on Facebook for a while. That counts for something, right?

Nothing counts for anything when I have to spend $5,000+ on gear and have still yet to make $1 from photographing a festival/concert.

Have any of you guys seen Anthony Parasole? He’s coming thru in a few weeks. I know he’s a big deal but haven’t been able to find much that seems representative of what a DC party might get.
somebody on the secret Movement facebook discussion group which I finally found posted a playlist of 365 different mixes from Movement artists this year.

Decent lineup for the undercard but I've found that I love the pre/after parties most of all! I'll probably get my ticket soon.
Side note. I'm opening for J.Phlip this week and digging for tracks is taking up a ton of time. She's such a great track selector that I thought I might come here and ask you what your favorite tracks are? I'm going for a deep slow house (not Chicago/ATL house) and moving into bouncy house or more techy house. Think Fat Moxx (newer guy, love him) into Dirty Bird with that silly, yet grooving riding sound. I might go the direction of Techy-house like the stuff on Perfect Driver/Repopulate Mars. Who have I not heard of, that you love?

6AM Group one of the LA underground promotions also has an after party with the World Live Debut of Marsian, which is Marc Houle and Sian, and I believe Lee K is also on that lineup.
