I mean, I'm going to vote for Sonic here like everyone else to save better options, but Krispy Kreme should be gone soon. It's the most one note of any of the options left, and it's not a viable option for anything other than an unhealthy breakfast (which I adore, to be clear).

i agree krispy kreme shouldn't be a finalist or anything, and also agree that it's very one note. but that one note is really delicious, even if it's terrible for you. i think we need to knock out the places that range from gross to boring first.

I think for the one Krispy Kreme note that's deicious, there are like 5 notes at Sonic that are passable - excellent soda options, excellent ice cream options, chili cheese coneys, tots, mozz sticks all are fine to great.

your point is fair, and i guess it's all subjective, but a hot KK original glazed is such a singular thing. sure there are tons of donut places, many superior to KK, but there is nothing quite like that hot KK original glazed. and i'm sure that opinion is also wrapped up in nostalgia.
Sonic meanwhile does have many passable options, but none of them are unique or best in their class. i should note i'm not a sugary soda person so i don't give sonic points for that.

One time in college after a late night of drinking, I went to a Rally's and asked for "a cheeseburger with nothing on it" (I was a very picky eater back then), and I quite literally received two buns with nothing inbetween them wrapped up in foil paper.
Big agree. Sonic is a vibe. Sit in your car with a pal and have a delicious slushie or shake. Maybe take down a nicely dressed dog. Nothing fancy but the food quality is at least on par with most of these places
