IM taking the shuttle from Nashville airport. It says its dropping me off at some random street (I forget the name). Has anyone taken the shuttle in teh past? Will I be able to stop and buy some beer before going into 'Roo (Ill be walking)? Or are there any bars in walking distance to stop and have a cold one?
Yeah i'm canadian, it's 19 here in Ontario and i'm 20, customs people don't take kindly to smuggling in booze so i guess i'll have to find someone 21 and friendly to go on a liquor store adventure with me...

There is actually a liquor warehouse and beer store really close.....Harding Place (within 2 miles) of the airport. It is also across the street from Sam's Club (Walmart)......It is on the way to the interstate also....ASK your cabbie! I am not remembering the name of the establishment, but I am sure that your trusty cab/van driver will know the closest liquor store.....Its their job! Holla! MS
The liquor store Nashvillematt is referring to is called J. Barleycorns @ 5000 Harding. From the airport you would take Donelson Pike South I think and cross over Murfreesboro Road. Go to the end, turn right and about a mile up you will see this on the right. From there you can get back on Harding going right and Hit I-24 East toward Chattanooga.
I also called another place close to the airport for you guys to get directions and he (Sonny) will give anyone a 10% discount if you mention you are going to Bonnaroo. This place is called Donelson Pike Liquors 519 Donelson Pike. From the airport you take Donelson Pike North. Go about 1-2 miles and he is on the right in a strip shopping center across the street from K-Mart and Ruby Tuesdays. Next door to him is a Beer store that sells imports if you wanted something besides your average Bud light, Miller lite etc...
This store is located at an exit that will put you directly on 40W and then you will head toward I-24E.
Hope this helps.. Please let me know if you have any other Nashville questions and I will try to help.
Nashvillematt glad to see another Nashvillian on the board besides me and my friends!

The Liquor Store I posted (Mom's) is right near the intersection of Donelson Pike and Mufreesboro Road -- so I think I'm going to skip the couple of mile drive. :-) But, thank you!
(edited for spelling of "Donelson" -- I hope I got it right)
How late do they sell "packaged" liquor in Nashville? Box of wine and a plastic bottle of whisky ;D --Of the stores listed, which is open latest Wed or earliest on Thursday??? Thanks for all the hospitality!
(link is too long you'll have to copy & paste) - really neat: click "street view" and place it on the destination and you'll be able to see J Barleycorn's - it's the red buidling with the Cruzan boat in the front.
last year I went to Donelson Liquors which is just outside of the airport...near Kmart. Its at 519 Donelson Pike # 101, Nashville, TN 37214
Can't vouch for prices or anything (can't remember) - but there is also a smoke shop in the same strip mall - you know...for cigarettes & pipe tobacco.
Overall - its pretty close to the airport...and close to the highway (40) that hooks up w/ HWY 24 to the 'Roo
