Actually pretty pleased with this. Popeye's, Wendy's, and Taco Bell are usually the ones I go to. CFA is fine, but just slightly below the other 3 for me. I've only had In and Out once and it was ok. Never had Whataburger.
yeah, the lack of familiarity with In-N-Out and Whataburger keeps pushing their date with destiny back. Whatever happens this round, they should be strongly considered for the trash bin of history. Of the known shit, I'd rate it Popeye's > Wendy's > Taco Bell since I've never had anything at Taco Bell that I enjoyed eating. Some of you guys rep for it for whatever reason, and Pablo says it rules. It tastes like I'd expect dog food to taste. Everyone but Druid is younger than me, but when Wendy's was going national to challenge the big 2 at the time (Burger King and McDonald's) and took to advertising on television, they were known as Hot and Juicy. Their commercials featured their square patties on a round bun with patrons wiping their mouths in unison while the jingle played in the background. It was pretty bad. I'm sure it still is if it's out there:
In their defense, the Where's the Beef early 1980's era was some of the best commercials.
I personally have a soft spot for Taco Bell but I get why people would be voting for it now.
But Popeye's is the real answer this round. One good menu item isn't enough to save it any longer.
It's not that I care that much what happens, but Spicy Chicken, chicken sandwiches, Red Beans and Rice, Onion Rings and Fried Shrimp are all good there for fast food. Their cajun turkeys (slow roasted then flash fried) at Thanksgiving that you can order are good too. People don't really know about those.

yes the spicy chicken sandwich gets a lot of attention, but there is also the actual fried chicken which is the best in the fast food chicken game, the mashed potatoes with cajun gravy, red beans & rice, and some really incredible flaky buttery biscuits.
i can't recall if their mac and cheese is good but i bet it is.
popeyes is the only place left that gives you a proper meal in a drive thru.

oh i can't remember if i told y'all, but we just got a Culvers and i ate there for the first time a couple weeks ago. really good! got a burger, fries, cheese curds, and vanilla custard in a waffle cone. the vanilla custard in the waffle cone was great, i ate it first on the drive home.

Do people who generally have the choice between Bojangles and Popeyes actually choose Popeyes? That's what some of the comments seem to indicate, but I guess I'm not sure who has regular access to Bojangles.

That's a Wisconsin chain that's been near my house in Pensacola for the last couple years. They advertise Wisconsin Butter Burgers and Wisconsin cheese. Their frozen custard drinks are pretty good for sure, and some of their soups really aren't bad either.

It's farther east in the Panhandle than P'cola. It's pretty average IMHO.

Popeyes for the sandwich, if you can get it. Bojangles for everything else. Also Culvers would have been best burger in this game.

I am not a huge fan of their mac and cheese. It reminds me of cafeteria mac and cheese. Popeye's is definitely my number 1 on this list with Wendy's a close second. The only fast food place that I would prefer over Popeye's is Chubbie's but if you think that CFA has horrible hours, then Chubbie's would be the bane of your existence. Also, they are currently only allowing drive thru or phone in pick-ups. The line is in a parking lot otherwise it would be way down the street. Their hours are 11a - 5p and they are closed on the weekends. Yes that means Saturday also. But whatever, they have the best fucking chicken in the city. They used to sell fried gizzard but covid killed that. Oh and their shrimp po-boys? Can you say chicken fried shrimp? Cuz that's what's up.
Oh btw we learned about Culvers at Bonnaroo. We sat down at this picnic table to eat. The 2 girls that were there happened to be from Greenville and they told us about the butter burgers.

honestly i do not eat at either regularly, but if i want a fried chicken dinner i hit up popeyes. but it's like a once a year thing, too much for my body to handle.
bojangles is great though. great breakfast particularly.

Kind of shocked by this!
What are the odds right? We sat down with people from here. Or is it more shocking that there was a burger place I didn’t know about?

No, I thought “oh, that’s weird that there’s a Culver’s in Greenville” and then I was shocked to learn there are 40+ in the south. I had no idea.
It's been in Knoxville for a couple years at least now. I didn't know it was a big deal until a few months after they had been open bc I had never heard of them at all.

Okay that turkey does sound delicious... but I still have to vote Popeye's based upon the one time I ate there it was awful. I have genuinely enjoyed multiple meals form the other 4.

Yea, this was 7-8 years ago when we found out about it.
