Ugh. That guy has the highest penalty yards and total penalties per game of any ref in the league. Constant penalties are such an excitement killer.
For chiefs bucs it was lopsided with 11-3 in favor of tampa. Pats falcons it was 7-9 edge to pats. I hope he doesnt get in a mood and keeps calling lineman downfield cause thats been the penalty that has been annoying af for lots of teams this season. Maybe replay assist will temper that.
Replay assist isn't used for (most) penalties, is it? Would assume it's the same as replay, where like illegal forward pass can be challenged or reviewed, maybe too many men. But I don't think illegal downfield is reviewable. I could be wrong, I don't recall it ever being reviewed, not that I've seen every play this year.

I think for something like that you could confirm it because its very easy to see if theyre past the 2 yards or not. There was a wild card game that had a lot of replay assists used. New York is literally in the refs ear anyway.

Knowing that the NFL has had the special chip / sensor things in the footballs for a few years, and now seeing the success of the VAR offsides tech used in the World Cup, it should only be inevitable that some of these referee and replay issues can and should be automated.
It’s not like the doesn’t NFL have the money to to install the proper cameras and technology to make it work…
Edit: didn’t the new USFL? Footbal league get rid of the onfield manual chain and use virtual and automated tech and the refs just needed to be told where to spot it?

I think so. We'll see what randomness they use when it starts up and if the nfl does try any of it.
Excuse is Gannon called a ton of zone coverage against dak like a dumbass. And 41 of them were to dallas and 19 were to new orleans. Things tightened up overall when the defense was playing more man and having trust in the pass rush. What was Dallas' excuse of allowing 34 and 26 against backups.
Your defense also tends to allow more yards and points when they're on the field more often, which happens when your offense isn't as effective.
I have no idea how to predict the outcome for this game. Since I have no skin in this game, I think San Francisco is the less interesting team so I don't really want them to be in the Super Bowl. But I also really dislike Eagles fans.. So this is tough.
As for the AFC, it's unfortunate that we won't get to see a fully healthy Mahomes vs Burrow match. I gotta give the edge to the Bengals for this reason. Hopefully Joe can perform better this year if he makes it back to the big game.
Cause they were supposedly the most amazing defense since Doomsday according to the faithful in Valley Ranch. Biggest what if is Philly and Dallas didnt get to play each other with both qb's and that sucks.
The games going to be tough on Sunday no doubt. Gonna come down to the trenches. Divisional game showed Purdy can be make uncomfortable and he was fortunate to not pay the price on a couple throws he made. Eagles have a deep D line rotation which can be a difference maker later on in a game when they decide to put in Joseph,Davis and Suh who mightve played a handful of snaps up to that point against a tired niner O line and get after the qb. If they can take away Purdys reads in the middle of the field which is where he excels then its gonna be a long day. Niners D is physical af which is their bread and butter. Hurts will have to be on it with his protections cause it wont be pretty letting Hufonga get a free shot on a blitz. I hope they arent game planning like the Bears game and letting Hurts take a bunch of runs up the middle and let Warner have a chance. And will the Niners have an answer for Brown, Smith and Goedert. Ceedee was Daks only target and he got his in that game. Davante Adams feasted on the Niners secondary in that Ot game. Same with DK. And Aj Brown is pissed off he didnt get a td last game. Go birds.

It's really dumb to make this about the Cowboys at all but I'll bite and say they had the same targets, I think less tbh considering an injured TE and Pollard going out, against the Niners that they did against the Eagles, so that part of your argument is especially dumb. Anyway, back to the question at-hand of whether the Niners might actually be better than the Eagles at defense. Thought those numbers were interesting, that's all. There's a football game on Sunday.
