8-0 going into SC series. Won a tough one against a good team last night. Jumped out to early 5-0 lead, they came back to tie it up, then we hit a couple hrs in the 8th to win 8-5.
also seeing there's a homestand this weekend so i guess i'm going to my first games of the season this weekend!
EDIT: saturday is a doubleheader so i know which day i won't be attending

last time we had one, we went to the first game and then had to clear the student section in between games so we went to Kroger to replenish beverages + grabbed sushi from there and brought it out to right field and ate it while we watched the start of the game

Will definitely be interesting because I don’t think we’ve seen good pitching so far.
we let a true freshman get his first start last night and he had 9 Ks in 4 innings so that was pretty promising, plus we had 16 or 17 Ks total for the game
bats didn't really get hot, partially because they just didn't really throw much over the plate with nearly 10 walks lol i'll take a 10-2 victory nonetheless. got another midweek against the same team tonight then it's onto Orlando for the UCF series
just saw where they're doing each game at a different location, that's pretty interesting and wild
Yea, but 2 of them are in Columbia. No one can agree on a 3rd location. They use to play in Greenville but SC complained that it’s too close to Clemson. They’ve played it in Charleston before.

I actually didn't know they didn't have a game in Greenville this year. They should do one game in Greenville one year and then Charleston the next and rotate that.

It is. Friday is at Founders Park, Saturday is at a "neutral" site in Columbia then Sunday at Clemson

my boys battled back from multiple deficits behind scoring all of our runs on 5 homers with 3 of them being back to back to back and 2 of them being from our little lead off shortstop. UCF tested the hell out of us with some early runs so i’m looking forward to seeing what we’ve got for them today
also looks like Texas is definitely legit with a pretty easy thumping of Tennessee after the Vols has been DESTROYING their easy competition early in the season. interested to see how Texas plays LSU today
finally, had some highly ranked teams like Arkansas, NC State, and Stanford lose to small schools to start the weekend

honestly all i know about merrimack is that a guy from my high school plays basketball there and i’m pretty sure he’s a red shirt. i know nothing else.
not to mention in the 10th or 11th we drew a walk with no outs then proceeded to pinch hit for a guy hitting damn near .600 for our designated singles/bunt guy (who is like 250lbs but somehow cannot put umph on the ball and hits about .400 with mostly singles) who then bunts it DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PITCHER and they instantly turn a double play
bottom of the 12th we walk the first two guys on 9 pitches then bring in a junior relief pitcher who is legitimately as good now as he was in high school (aka has not progressed at all in 3 years and should still be nothing more than a midweek pitcher) who gets an out on a bunt that advances the runners then immediately allows a hit up the middle to lose the game
pulled out the series win with a 9-1 victory today! aside from our Friday started, we only allowed 2 or 3 runs this weekend so i’m pretty happy overall despite the frustration yesterday
need a little more consistency out of our Friday guy and can’t let the bats get as stale as Saturday, that’s all I can ask for at this point
love to see MS State take the L yesterday and keep struggling today; i NEED TTU to bust em up down on the coast this week andrew
