yeah, i said nice things about lucy in round 1, and i'm not a fan of friends at all, but i can objectively step back and note that friends is a better show than lucy. sorry lucy!
while i certainly don't love Friends like i used to, i do notttt think it deserves to go out this early. and i would be remiss to not fight for it by at least posting the Holiday Armadillo scenes:
oh and Ross's musical debut on the show lmao
p.s. who is it that said Ross is the worst earlier? man i honestly think hes prob the funniest on the show.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Lucy is pretty dumb, but it is slapstick type humor. Friends was a defining piece of culture for lots of shallow people. Which is worse, something that was supposed to be dumb and outrageous or an updated Melrose Place? I don't know. I suppose some could argue it's more intellectual than Three's Company.
I still want to know why so many decent sitcoms didn't make this list. I realize the OP isn't an old guy. But surely you whippersnappers (sp?) grew up in a time when you could still see most of old stuff like Mash, Married with Children, Jeffersons, Good Times, Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Maude, Mary Tyler Moore, WKRP, Welcome Back Kotter, The Odd Couple, Will & Grace, Golden Girls, Cheers, Soap. Shit I don't know. There was some pretty creative shit that brought conflict front and center to the nation's conscience via humor. Even newer shit like Schitt's Creek would work - but it would probably win.

That was me. I still think that he's a terrible person. He's got great highlights, though.

I don't particularly care for either of the shows, but Lucille Ball is easily funnier than any of the Friends main cast so seems straightforward enough to me

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
