would highly appreciate any recommendations off the lineup! been trying to listen to everyone i’ve seen highlighted in this thread so far
What are some artists you like on here already?
to be fair, i’m pretty unfamiliar with most of the acts on here besides the top few names (both headliners are all it took to sell me) but from the listening i’ve been doing lately, i’m really digging la femme and orbital

A.G. Cook is one of, if not thee, most influential artist in hyper-pop. He doesn't tour much so I'd say stopping by his set would be worth it.
Kenny Beats is more famous for his hip-hop production than his DJing, but you can search some of his sets online and they look like a BLAST.
Lot of the undercard are local so check as many of them out as possible. Ultrathem killed it last year and will probably kill it again this year. Bitterbabe is super fun everytime I see her. Techno with a lot of Latin influence, so a good set to seek if you like to dance.
i’ve seen this lineup like 15 times and i just now noticed kenny beats’ name on it
My intro to him and definitely moving up my must-see list.
this set is fantastic. if you haven’t watched his Youtube series The Cave yet, definitely check that out too. I love the episodes with Denzel, Vince, and Zack Fox

obviously the Zack Fox episode is hilarious, but Denzel’s is one of my favorite freestyles in recent years

I may show up this year on Friday for Kittin and The Hacker. They are one of the very few acts on the lineup that isn't a repeat or a festival/miami regular.

I'm looking at this fest mainly for Orbital, been a big fan of them for years. Anyone with past knowledge of this fest have any idea how long their set would be, considering it looks like they're billed 5th on their day? Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of other acts I have interest in too but Orbital is the one that would really make my decision to come to this or not.

One question I had about this set, is it supposed to be funny that he's doing a pre-recorded set and pretending to DJ? Is that part of his act? Because in some parts it seems like he's joking/hamming it up by doing a fake knob twiddling before the transition and then nothing during it, and other times it seems like he's trying to accurately simulate DJing. I saw people make comments about this but couldn't tell if it's a joke or what?

It's definitely mostly pre-recorded and I think that's fine because he's not really touting to be a DJ. People at his shows seem to have a good time as long as he delivers.
I would have preferred someone else on the line up but it is what it is.

Yeah I'm not hating on it, I'm just curious if he's purposefully having fun with the fact that it's a prerecorded set, or if he's just pretending to do it and forgets sometimes? Most mainstage style festival sets are prerecorded, it doesn't bother me, just wondering for those who follow Kenny Beats as a live artist, is he taking the piss, or just fucking around, or both?

This might be a more a question of how they actually perform now vs a few years ago, but Julie do you know if Red Axes is doing a DJ set or a live set?

There is nothing ok about about a dj using a prerecorded set.. Large mainstage at a festival or otherwise. If they cant mix, they should do a live show. If they cant do either, then get out of the way and let other performers who deserve their spot take it.
We getting any cool shows the few days before the fest? After parties? I saw Sinopoli mention Frank on his story, hopefully that’s a hint he’s coming to Miami in the summer.
