C'mon NOW can we kick out Gaucho?? Katy Lied's got so many tracks that feel like that awesome coked-up time in the 70's. I'll switch for "Countdown" because Bodhisaltva is not great, but "My Old School" is SO good.

The first 2 tracks on Gaucho are classics, then you have Time Out Of Mind and My Rival.

Said it before, I'll say it again: Hate "Babylon Sisters", not a big fan of "My Rival" - too much like the pretend smooth jazz you hear at the dentist's office in the 90s

Do you even like this band?
I don't like the band.
I LOVE the band. My step-dad and I have seen them play a bunch (though not since Becker died).

ehh, it was a reductive way to make the point that that songs on countdown to ecstasy are just more interesting (to me) than katy lied. countdown to ecstasy has longer songs with some more intricate arrangements, better solos. katy lied is pretty straighforward 3 minute pop-rock. the boston rag, your gold teeth, my old school, show biz kids, king of the world, bodhisatva are all more compelling to me than nearly all the songs on katy lied. I'm not a huge katy lied fan and I internally debated a lot about katy vs. pretzel last round.

I'm fine with Babylon Sisters. My Rival is meh
About 15 years ago, I had a smooth jazz phase - right around the same time I first got introduced to Steely Dan.
