Regardless of a place's contributions to music, Philly and DC are both East Coast Cities, which are objectively better than anywhere else. We need to focus on Portland/Seattle/Atlanta here.
Atlanta sliding under the radar here is pretty wild to me. Doesn't really have any particular charm and feels very spread out. Other than being a large metro area with nice weather it doesn't do anything for me.
Philly/DC have many flaws but have charm and uniqueness.
Are we just writing down bands we like from DC? If we are, I got a list for you.
Also, I’ll be damned if I’m voting out a city that Tesco Vee called home for 30 years.
LMFAO. Isn't he a Texas fuck maybe second in psychoticness to GG? I remember The Meatmen. I had the clear plastic vinyl of War of the Superbikes. I'm pretty sure Meatmen were some of the band from Minor Threat.

I love the Pacific Northwest, so Seattle and Portland are safe from my vote for a while. Seattle’s traffic is awful and the Amazon effect has really nuked the real estate market, but it’s still an awesome city by my lights.

I'll vote for Atlanta instead of D.C. unless someone can really argue for Atlanta. We can't use Athens GA as an Atlanta-adjacent argument. I figured everyone's love of Shaky Knees is why it still wasn't out.

But then again, D.C. is on a swamp...so...
ATL is a pretty cool city. They have little five points and they brought us OutKast.

Michigan but he moved to DC in the early 80’s and stayed till the mid 2000’s. He had put out the Blüd Sausage 7” and We’re The Meatmen .. And You Suck LP before he moved. Then restarted The Meatmen with Brian and Lyle of MT and the drummer from The Necros. It was more thrash metal but it was fun. I truly miss those shows.
