I think Atlanta is a cool town. I've spent a weird, almost accidental, amount of time there the past couple years, between a wedding, Shaky, a long layover, and post-Roo cancelation. It has a young, sexy, diverse vibe to it. But we're down to some heavy hitters now.

It’s better than Portland. I think Portland and Seattle are getting by because most people haven’t been there. Same thing that happened in the fast food poll.

I can promise it’s not. While Little Five Points is great, that’s really all I consider in Atlanta. Downtown shuts down early and feels too “young professional” for me. Portland is a full city full of amazing eats and not horrible traffic. Bicycles and public transportation do their jobs well there. It’s all grid with numbers running north to south and alphabetical east to west. The one big crooked street had all the strip clubs and tattoo shops on it (but that’s also 20 years ago).
I will forever say Portland was my second favorite place I’ve ever lived. This is over 2 of the big 3. I get why Portland will go soon but it should definitely be above Atlanta.
in 2009 I went to Atlanta to watch the Vols-VaTech Chick-fil-a bowl. Afterwards the wife and I snuck into the WSMFP NYE show at Phillips Arena. It was a great time. Didn't get back to our hotel until nearly 4am though because we couldn't find a damn taxi in downtown atlanta. There were no bars or anything open after the show so we just stood on the street in the cold slowly sobering up and trying to get a ride. At one point a friend chased a cab down the road screaming "how do i get a ride with your company?" It was weird being in a big city downtown that was totally dead, especially on NYE.
Darker than Pepto-pink and blue with not enhanced white letters. Night was worse with black letters. Haha. What a terrible look. It's got me squinting which this site never does. Pretty much every city left is great or almost great. There's plenty of good. Seattle - Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Brandi Carlisle, Modest Mouse, Quincy Jones, Sleater-Kinney, pre-MTV era Heart (Dreamboat Annie, Dog & Butterfly), Mudhoney and Duff.
Counter - MTV-era Heart, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Ventures, Queensryche bra is not enough to take this down yet.

You just have to know where to go. But that’s true of every city.

Wait, are you saying I shouldn't have won?
You shouldn’t have but I was talking about the Texas and West Coast burger places.
Portland has two sports teams and the fanbases are rabid. The home atmospheres at Blazers and Timbers games get super hyped up by national press. I wouldn’t care if I lived there that they don't have an NFL team, because the NFL is a better sport to watch at home than attend anyway. And it's probably better to just not have an NFL team than have the Falcons.
