just opened channel 3 to watch Pabllo Vittar and they had a nice quick view of the crowd from the main stage in the day. I feel like I bring this up constantly but there's really no better feeling than being with your friends, sharing a drink in the beer jail, looking out at the beautiful art and the mountains on the horizon, ready to enjoy some music. Can't wait to have that feeling again in a few days.
ok realizing I don't like pabllo's voice as much as I thought I did. I'm going to bed, good night everyone!
That's not healthy, you should go to bed on a positive note not a disappointing one.
I saw two of my favorite international acts do full sets, I saw my all time favorite live band do perform a couple of their greatest songs, I saw one of the biggest pop stars do a totally gratuitous collaboration with Damon Albarn. I think that’s a pretty high note to end on.
I saw emo nite on the replay and the fact that that was an act that was booked for anything, let alone a major music festival makes me angry. They just jumped around on stage while playing my Spotify daily mix 4. I'm pretty sure that set list was as random playlist I got after listening to blink 182 a few weeks ago on Spotify. I hate going all grampa mode but honestly WTAF.

I did end up getting into the Billie set, glad the sound issues got worked out! She sounded great doing the slower songs, which are some of my favorites from her in general!
Caught some of 21 too, definitely looked fun and his upcoming Bonnaroo set gained another attendee

Imagine being this proud about the fact that you hate fun

Lol. They’ve been around for at least 6 or 7 years as a curator of parties. I don’t listen to much from the genres they play, so I didn’t go see them mid-teens when they appeared at a festival here. The set was on for a few minutes before whatever else came on after. I couldn’t help thinking that if I didn’t know how to DJ and basically pressed play on a list and ran around hyping people up, that’s what you’d get.
Again Freddie’s set was disappointing/disastrous. Isaiah was good but not enough of the crowd apparently knew much of it. I like him better in a smaller situation. 21 seemed to be on a good path before I went to sleep which you never really know how good or bad he’ll be on a given night. Plus seeing all those fashionably adorned, rich white kids singing along to Red Ops provided a nice social juxtaposition. Only thing I missed that I know I’m going to go back and watch today is Caribou and possibly Brian. Maybe I’ll skim some Flume, but I don’t particularly like what he is usually playing live.

Also the extended PSA to the streaming crowd and crowd in attendance by Joe K and the gecko therapy guy for people to please stop spamming all social media with complaints that x or y sucks while you’re waiting to see a certain act probably ought not have been needed to be said to a Coachella audience. They kept emphasizing that people should keep an open mind. It must have been a considerable problem for the time they spent on it.

I’ve never understood people who do that. It’s so easy to just not say anything or change to a different set.

Flume was the least impressive thing I saw on this stream. Laughed out loud when he cut off his own music.
I tried. He had lots of singer guests come out, but it’s just kind of overall wimpy with some occasionally interesting parts. Maybe it’s bullshit white nostalgia for a time that never existed, but it seemed his shit was more interesting 10 years ago. Seals the deal I won’t worry about his Bonnaroo set. I’m kind of in the same boat with Disclosure. They vary sets and styles up, but if they told me they were going to do the exact same set at Bonnaroo, maybe I’d pass by the back to watch 5 minutes. These would have been wildcard/hopeful Bonnaroo EDM sets but really only reinforced how much electronica will be on the farm that I don’t care about.
OTOH, I just queued up Caribou which is musically entertaining and at least something different. I could have sworn I’d seen them before but I would have remembered.
One last Stromae Thought since I'm now fixated on this idea: throughout his set, especially towards the end, he mentioned they were having technical difficulties "especially on the back end", which makes me wonder if they tried to put up the moving screens but couldn't at the last minute because it was too windy.
I’m the guy who hates the hosts just because I really really want them to bring Jason Bentley back.
Homeboy is chilling in France right now. I think he is just enjoying the semi retirement life more than he imagined. And not being the face of KCRW anymore makes a difference in what he does.

The screens were up there. But if it got to a point where they couldnt move them anymore cause of the wind then thats something else. Maybe his in ears cut out or something. But it was still perfectly fine regardless of the issue.
