Never played animal crossing, have absolutely no interest in it. But for the amount my kids fight with each other bc you can only have one island - that shiz gotta go.
I enjoy Animal Crossing. I think it fair to be the first nintendo game to go, but I acknowledge it's wonderful ability to make people happy and deal with depression and anxiety, especially during the pandemic. A very special game.

The one island thing is stupid, but the game itself is wholesome. It's also a reminder that the switch is not truly meant to be a console for the household. It's a personal console. Kyle and I have our own.
love Doom but i think its the clear answer here. while it of course essentially invented the genre, the later entries dont really make a great case for it being an all timer series

The most recent two Dooms, Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal (2020), are both quite well-reviewed. 85 and 88 metacritic scores. Doom fans still love the new ones, afaik.
Don't remember anyone really caring about the Animal Crossings between the first one in 2001 and New Horizons.

Animal Crossing has always been a really unique and one of its kind series. It was extremely niche up until new horizons but its such a fun and comfy series, not to mention its unprecedented ability to draw in so many people who typically don’t play video games at all. As far as quality, uniqueness and cultural impact its made i dont think it deserves to go quite yet. DOOM, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls should go first. Again, love them, but specifically Fallout and TES games are often buggy and glitchy messes that dont have nearly the level of polish the rest of these series’ have
I think eventually this is going to devolve into console wars. Idk anyone who grew up with or even now have all systems and thus will feel the need to defend which games are dearer to them.
I didn't think Animal Crossing would last that much longer, but am a little surprised that it's currently on the chopping block when Doom almost went in a previous round and Dark Souls has several times been brought up as ready to exit.

Wasnt trying to say it should be one way or the other, just that I think this is where it's naturally going to head.
Edit: and honestly not sure which prompt you're referring to?
I should say, if any nintendo franchise gets the boot, it should be pokemon. Gamefreak has been churning out half baked glitchy messes for the past decade

"Which franchise is your least favorite?"
Idk why I thought you were referring to a "how to play survivor" thread or post and I was like "fuck have I been doing this wrong for how many months".
