New Year's includes both Eve and Day, just like Halloween is at least a week long and Christmas is pretty much the entire month of December
WTF? I don't even like December that much. New Years, under this definition, falls during different years even though they are consecutive days. I don't know how Christmas can be the whole month. I'm going to get a couple Xmas luncheons in and all. But I always looked at those things individually. Mardi Gras would technically be the best "holiday" if holiday = holiday season since it runs from January 6th until whenever Ash Wednesday is (somewhere between February 4th and March 10th).
I mean "Summer" might have been a holiday under these neo-fascist rules!
Christmas runs the month of December due to Secret Santa, friend get togethers/gift exchanges, going to see the lights put up in the rich neighborhoods and work socials/lunches/parties, etc. And you only get off NYD not E but you are technically celebrating from eve to day. That is pretty much how that holiday exactly works.

Christmas season does. But the whole season viewed as a "holiday" is skewed because the holiday is what it is. A holiday. For New Year's, it always seemed that what we're celebrating is the New Year. Most people get an earlier start so they can be wherever they want to be for midnight when the clock turns. If the "eve" was the important day, we'd be celebrating old year or year's end or whatever and then get to New Year because the last day of the year can't be the new year. IDK. It really doesn't matter that much, but I may have voted differently if I was looking at these holiDAYs from a more liberal prism and interpretation.

Easter has good fucking candy, y'all. Day after Easter at CVS with half-price candy is basically early Halloween. What kind of candy does Memorial Day have?
