So question for the vets. This was our first year and I heard folks talking about it not always being in Central Park. Is this always kind of a lottery year over year or is the general thinking that it might be at Central for good?

so shaky started at the Masquerade, it outgrew it
Then went to Atlantic Station which was a disaster because it was asphalt
Then to Central Park in 2015. They had 5 stages, no criminal records stage.
Then some of the land got sold so they went to centennial for a few years but the deal fell through so they went back to Central in 2018 and now it seems to be permanent.

honestly kinda miss Centennial park sometimes. I enjoyed the setup there a lot, but I’m fine with it being at Central from here out.

Central Park setup is way better. We’re always on the hill between the 2 stages. It’s nice to go back there and be able to watch or listen to either stage.

yeah I agree Central Park is better. Just miss the centennial park sometimes. Maybe it was just because it was my first Shaky
Hot take: I miss the year with the sketchy ass bridge, that layout felt very urban which is what I want from a city festival
It was a great year lineup wise, because there was more. It was tough to go back and forth between those 2 areas though. It would be better if they could bring back 2 stages that were behind where the tent is.

I thought the setup was great. I mean the access to the festival was fantastic for us (walking/rolling from hotel) and then just bouncing between stages was really easy. Honestly the only section that I thought was extremely oddly placed was the merch tent. That's not something worth even griping about though.

Yeah it's perfect location for hotels and subway etc but man those stages were sooo far apart.

So not sure if this has been posted but Tim said oh his Insta that next year will be very special could he just be referring to the 10th anniversary or does he go something huge up his sleeve

I doubt it’s anything crazy but it would be cool if they got like a Superjam type act. Maybe Portugal the Man + some members of Cage and other indie rock people. Throw that on as a Piedmont closer.
Since Tim seems to like his Australian rock (Tame, Gizz, Amyl, The Murlocs, Gangs of Youth, Psychedelic Porn Cumpets) I really hope we get Pond next year, please and thank you. Also like I just commented about having more trippy electronic bands, Cut Copy, Empire of The Sun, and The Avalanches are all Aussie too and would be perfect additions to play shaky.
Just realized Pond played the first year I went in 2017 so they def need to come back. Also forgot to add Babe Rainbow and Dope Lemon to play Shaky. How could I forget either of them.

And I was about to ask the old timers how far in advance they usually announce.
They usually announce it in November right before the lineup drop but I guess because it’s the 10th anniversary they decided to announce the dates now. Hoping Tim has something big planned
