not every fest can always get super exciting and exclusive artists headlining. The Killers are a much better option than, say Panic! at the Disco, Imagine Dragons, or, even though i'm a big fan, Twenty One Pilots.
Hoping for Leon Bridges. Even better would be him and Khruangbin playing together.
Am I the only one bored by Leon Bridges live shows? I love him as a musician, I was just very underwhelmed the last time I saw him.
I've still never seen him even though he is one of my favorites. Was supposed to see him at Moon River this year but it got rained out due to flooding which was a major bummer for me.

gtfoh with his totally tempered & logical take, andrew! we wanted pearl jam!!
I will say if you'd say "Take The Killers or legitimately risk Imagine Dragons" I'd run to the podium with that pick.
id rather have odds of 50% Depeche Mode, 50% Imagine Dragons than 100% The Killers
I continue to think that Imagine Dragons is if not 0%, a very low chance. They would seem like a really strange stylistic fit and they're one of the more expensive bookings in "rock" music today.
On the other hand one of the major benefits of The Killers is that they're a relatively cheap booking for how prominent/popular they are. Probably why they headline 15 festivals a year.
it’s like if you’ve wanted to see The Killers at this point, you probably already have
same goes for green day and i heard nothing but good things about them headlining this last year...
I saw both Green Day (headlining Sea.Hear.Now) and The Killers (at MSG) this year, and it was two remarkably similar experiences that ultimately felt very different. Both bands are polished to a high shine. Both frontmen lean hard into well-worn shtick and work the crowd with what feels like boilerplate rock show banter. Both play the hits, and even their spontaneous moments, however many there are, feel scripted.
But, I don't know, for some reason, I feel like it works super-well with the Killers in a way that it doesn't with Green Day. Like, by the fifth time Billie Joe shouted out New Jersey, in a very, "No one rocks like (checks note on the back of guitar) SPRINGFIELD!" sort of way, I was absolutely rolling my eyes, but Brandon Flowers is just as cheesy, and it felt not half as put-on. Maybe it's because that's always been the Killers' thing, whereas Green Day used to represent something different. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the same vibe that pissed me off coming from Green Day made for a good time with the Killers. Weird.
All this to say I'd probably enjoy watching my fourth Killers festival set a lot more than I'd enjoy seeing Green Day for a second time even though I know what beats they're going to hit before they hit them, at this point.

I agree with everything you said in this post except I come down the exact opposite way. Green Day shows are still fun for me while Killers shows feel rote and by the numbers. But that's probably 98% that I've been listening to Green Day since I was 10 and the Killers since I was 20. Just a different emotional attachment to the songs.
Hate to say this but I just don't seen how this is Depeche Mode > Muse. The tour gaps/timing seems more plausible for Muse than DM, and that's before we consider the Muse+Atlanta tease. Maybe SK pulls both but that seems doubtful considering the cost.
As someone who likes a lot of Muse’s music but have never seen live, why do their shows get so much hate on here?
they’re pretty corny and easy to catch. Haven’t out out anything good in over a decade.
I might’ve been tripping too hard at roo but his voice wasn’t hitting and the music was just meh to me. But also I’ve never got into them and loved to clown on their one popular song from my senior year in high school lolz. I’d rather have GD over Muse. I’m not mad at the Killers tbh. I like a lot of their songs, not exciting but it’s not bad
I feel like I have something in my memory about Tim having something "Big" planned for the 10 year anniversary. We also know there will be at least one first-time headliner. Depeche Mode - Muse - Killers - etc. doesn't sound BIG to me. That would be fine but not epic. Not 10 year anniversary epic.
Big to me is a band like Pearl Jam. First time headliner and I'm sticking with it. We'll find out tomorrow!
