Is her voice still flakey live? I remember her set at primavera before the surgery did not come close to what the record sounds like. Felt ok with missing her on her recent tour.

For me, this lineup is all about the 2nd and 3rd lines on each day: YYYs, Cypress Hill, Manchester Orchestra, TMV (unreal booking IMO), TGA, Phantogram, (also lumping in Soccer Mommy here, who rips), The Flaming Lips playing Yoshimi, FJM, Future Islands, Live, and the Walkmen. I've done some preliminary digging into the rest of the lineup and there are some serious hidden gems (Heartless Bastards, illuminati hotties, Spacey Jane, etc.). Not my favorite lineup on first glance, but the combo of The Killers, TMV, Manchester Orchestra, YYYs, The Flaming Lips, and Future Islands is all enough to get me in and I'm eyeing VIP as well.

I just saw her and she sounded fine but apparently she’s struggling with mental health stuff so she has no energy

Her voice was iffy but also she changed guitars and stopped in the middle of every song to yell at the sound guy. Just didn’t see like she wanted to be there and neither did the audience. Granted this was when she was opening for Turnstile so that def wasnt the best mix

That sucks. I knew she had the surgery and was struggling with some other issues, but I was hoping she was on the up swing. I really love her recorded stuff.
That is one I never really understood. All I ever heard from people who like them was ‘they sound like Led Zeppelin!’
Why would I want to listen to someone who wants to try to sound like that when I can just listen to the source?
I was skeptical but my fiancé loves them so we saw them at ACL...and they converted me. One of the most electric shows I've seen in a long time. They're legit.
Yep. Live show converted me. I'm hype to see them again. It's a huge show/sound

damn, now i feel bad for trashing her set. i hope she can take some time off and take care of her mental health. i cant imagine how hard touring is especially playing for crowds who arent there to see you

She had a stint in rehab before that so blowing up as much as she did this year probably didn’t help.

I like this lineup quite a bit. And now for my favorite part, discovering new bands to get excited about in 5 months. Been to this fest 8 times and never been disappointed. I don't feel like that will change this time.
This fest never fails to deliver - although I've seen some of these people in the past year, for the most part I'd see them again so soon, and catch a bunch that I had to miss and/or would love to see for the first time (YYYs, Placebo, The Walkmen, etc.) so I might be in, will ponder.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 2/25 Father John Misty 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis

There will probably be a couple of additions, at least one b/c snail mail is out

Personally I’m excited for everything but The Lumineers, but also don’t know most of their stuff so maybe they’ll grow on me. Most likely going solo this year so should be an interesting experience.

i saw them at sea hear now, and enjoyed them way more than i thought i would.. chill way to end the fest at least
Snail Mail was supposedly having issues all tour with Turnstile and might have been on purpose. You cant have tech problems every single night of the tour on accident. Friends saw 3 diff Turnstile shows along with me seeing em in LA and they said each show Lindsay had issues. You would def fire your engineer already if it was that bad. Think it might be the surgery and just a long year on the road along with the mentioned mental health issues.
i didn't watch all of greta van fleet at ACL 2021 but i heard like 15 minutes of their set while i went to the bathroom, filled up my water bottle, and walked back to the stage i had been at and while i still don't call myself a fan, it sounded really damn good.
also i saw cypress hill open for ice cube in august and they are insane live so that set will be great for everyone going.

At least for the Atlanta show, I'd have left the engineer at the Roxy after the number of sound tweaks she made
This lineup is god tier. Y’all just have horrible taste is all. Muse is one of the best live bands ever. The Killers are fine, The Lumineers I don’t care for but they’re Shakey’s first headliner so it makes perfect sense. The Mars Volta, Tenacious D, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, GVF, Cypress Hill and Digable Planets doing their best albums!, Grouplove, Placebo, Phantogram, The Front Bottoms, Surf Curse, Be your own PET reunion, Peaches, The Walkmen reunion, great psych like Pond, Babe Rainbow and The Black Angels, Futurebirds, Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail, Trash Panda, Father John Misty, Live, The Flaming lips doing Yoshimi in full! This lineup is under appreciated on all ends.
