Confirmed Ponce is not a tent this year. Prepare to get fried.
That festival map is so out of scale it's hard to tell where Ponce will sit. Google Maps tells me there's a nice patch of grass down at the end of that Civic Center lot. Looks like they sodded over half the old parking lot. And some potential tree shade in the afternoon/evening. It would be a hike distance-wise but might beat standing on asphalt.

Plot twist! I messaged them on insta like a week ago asking about the tent. They responded yesterday saying it wasn't this year. But then 20 minutes ago I got another DM from them saying it is a tent. I can't handle this emotional roller coaster.

We all going try to do a meet up? Maybe during GVF since nobody will be there? lol
I think that time slot (most peeps will probs be at peaches) or digable planets makes sense. DP is during the day so that may be better for meeting strangers lol. I'm prob only gonna stay for a little bit of Peaches so I can go get a good spot for YYYs
Fri: Matt Maltese> Charlotte Sands> Lovejoy> Food/Spacey Jane> Illuminati Hotties> Digable Planets> BYOP> Placebo> GVF> Cypress Hill> Killers(half)> leave early for Peaches late show
Sat: Daisy the Great> Olivia Jean> Cafune/Rickshaw> Sunflower Bean> Shame> Suki> Food> Gaslight> beer> Mars Volta> the D> Muse
Sun: Water From Your Eyes> chill/Puma Blue/food/beer/Sun Room> Snail Mail> Live> Future Islands> Black Angels> Hozier I guess> FLips
Have seen FJM and YYYs recently so probably won’t see this weekend

I'm pumped. Got to mark off a ton of bucket list bands at Coachella last weekend and some weird stuff at big ears in March and there is almost no overlap between these two fests and shaky and Bonnaroo so I'm fortunate to be able to see a lot of varying acts. Last year I said I was going to slow down on fests. Oops.
What did you think of 311 when you saw them previously? I watched some portion of a recent show on Youtube and it felt like a complete mail in. Might end up at the set regardless since I do plan to do Gaslight and TMV.
Here is where I'm at right now. Still have some decisions to make on those clashes in bold.
Fri: Matt Maltese -> Charlotte Sands -> Lovejoy -> Spacey Jane -> Cautious Clay -> Surf Curse/Digable Planets* -> Grouplove -> Placebo/Man Orchestra* -> GVF -> YYYs -> Killers
Sat: Daisy the Great -> Me nd Adam -> Rickshaw/Cafune -> Beach Weather -> Wilderado/Shame* -> Suki Waterhouse -> JV&B -> Gaslight Anthem -> 311/Front Bottoms* -> TMV -> Tenacious D -> Muse
Sun: Trash Panda -> NRCSST -> Sun Room -> Snail Mail -> Pond/Live* -> Future Islands -> Father John Misty -> Hozier/FIDLAR* -> Flaming Lips -> Lumineers
You'll probably have many more opportunities to catch Surf Curse but Digable Planets doing a special 30th anniversary show of their classic album is a goood get. Same with Placebo. Don't really think they tour a lot so if you like their music I'd go them since Man Orch plays ATL like twice a year and is also about to do a large tour. Shame is a can't miss imo. Front Bottoms would be my choice but they're one of my all time favs. I'm personally choosing +Live+ because Pond is also quite active and when I saw them at DD last year it was just fine (it was also the last show of the weekend so I was pretty exhausted)

go with the harder too see one is my new rule of thumb with fest sets. Too often I’ve made short sighted choses at festivals and missed out on bands it’d be hard to see again in the future. So Digiable Planets, shame (tour the us a lot less than Wilderado), & Placebo are easy choices. I’d go with Hozier over Fidlar just because it’s expensive af to see him and his shows sell out fast. Same would apply to a less extent with 311 over Front Bottoms, but I think 311 is ass so I’d see Front Bottoms. Pond v Live is probably the most brutal one, got no idea on that one.
