I was obsessed with Nirvana in the first half of the ‘90s and their cultural impact cannot be denied, but Cobain’s death in ‘94 obviously limited their output. However, they still managed to put out more music in the ‘90s than Nine Inch Nails, despite Trent Reznor being alive for the entire decade.

Honestly was just never a NIN fan. Pearl Jam is the better band but for the sake of defining 90s sound I'm going Nirvana.
I don't think I actually listened to them much in the 90's I didn't get it until the dvd they put out for The Fragile tour. That's why The Fragile is still my favorite. I didn't expect to get this far in this.

He was living here for much of the 1990’s until like 2003 or so influencing/producing an assload Nu Metal. Most people hate Nu Metal (or lots of it), so that could be a disqualifying factor. I went ahead and voted Pearl Jam. Both NIN and Pearl Jam are better musically than Nirvana, though I’m not arguing their place. Soundgarden gets the win in any objective poll of people who know [tm].

Are you talking about Trent? What nu metal did he produce?
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
6 covers 8 originals. I thought covers outweighed it before I counted. Either way it’s still the best nirvana album and I’m not sure what point I wanted to make anymore

He said he hated Nu Metal but the industrial sound springs from it. It’s that influence from him and Ministry that fueled the sound of Nu Metal. Lots of those acts like Dope, Drowning Pool, etc. were in town, on smack and hanging at his studio or the circles.
Nu Metal Marilyn Manson (almost all major albums) Rammstein 1000 Homo DJ’s (kind of)
Not Nu Metal Lots of Bowie, Puff Daddy & Family Coil Pantera Plaid Pop Will Eat Itself <PIG> Squarepusher Prick Meat Beat Manifesto The The A Perfect Circle
More information could probably be found if you searched Nothing Studios. The studio was an old mortuary or mausoleum or some shit uptown. I never met him out but plenty of my friends did while he lived here (like 8 years before and almost until Katrina).

Seems like you're conflating Reznor-produced with Nothing Studios with Nothing Records. Manson stopped having Trent produce on Mechanical Animals, which Trent was pissed about. I would have been, too, because that ended up being the only truly great Manson album, imo. Squarepusher and Autechre were distributed by Nothing, but I don't think Trent had anything to do with the music, etc.
And also most of that stuff you mentioned isn't nu metal.

All that shit goes back to before Katrina so I’m hazy on some of it. Im pretty sure they worked on mixing a lot of that shit for Nothing Records at the studio. I think they mixed some soundtracks there too but I was lying in bed and didn’t want to research shit on that to be sure. I know him and Marilyn had a falling out eventually, but Antichrist Superstar was almost for sure there. I don’t know who they worked with for Dope Show.
The broader point on Nu Metal and maybe the influence ends up bigger than the released production work. But if you look at some of the better musical acts from that, they are absolutely NIN influenced. Static-X, Korn, Dope, Coal Chamber and maybe throw Mushroomhead in. So many grinding edge metallic sounds, electric shock like and electric saw distortion.
