Since it's the 80's, I have to vote Whitney at this point. Her best work is in the 90's. I really don't care for "I Wanna Dance with Somebody".
My Mardi Gras krewe does a dance to that song (for the last 5 years not including covid) and I am OVER it.
Right?! It was there in the 80s, gone for a WHILE, and then in the late 2000s they were like "IT'S A STONE COLD CLASSIC AND WE'RE PLAYING IT EVERYWHERE". It's the "Celebrate good times c'mon" curse
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

For me, Whitney’s best songs were in the 80’s. All at Once, One Moment in Time, Where Do Broken Hears Go, So Emotional, Didn’t We Almost Have it All, How Will I Know, Greatest Love of All, Saving All My Love For You, etc. 😍

I’m voting Stevie, Mac days were her best. Madonnas first album still gets play To This Day! at my house. Prince is Prince and will always will be. Whitney is the Queen.
