What is the prevailing view on how much cash to bring to Bonnaroo? I certainly don't want to bring too much, but I do plan on investing in some party favors and will buy some food I am sure. Just trying to get an idea what most people bring and feel comfortable with. Thanks!

Im planning on bringing about 300$, my traveling buddy is bringing much more. We figure what we cant do there turns into a long term investment. Theres no such thing as too many party favors, ha.

I would suggest to bring about $300-$500. I know last year i didn't realize how much money i'd be spending and only brought like $100 and then after friday, spent about 2-3 hours in line at the ATM. Not a fun time and took away from alot of other stuff i wanted to do. So def bring enough to avoid the ATM lines.
Okay, will we be okay if we each bring about 50? because we're not planning on eating much "fest food" (at the last festival I went to I bought exactly one egg roll, and it was a week long) and any entertainment, we're pooling our cash together. We will also, of course, have bank accounts ready and rearing. Do the atms have ridiculous fees?
Both years I've gone I brought between $300 and $350 and come home with like $20. I spent money on everything both years too. I bought plenty of "party favors" and a t-shirt and a bowl, plenty of food in and around centeroo, beers from centeroo and various people outside centeroo, gas, and random vender stuff like papers and pendants. Pretty much bought everything I wanted and didn't run out of money. so around $350 seems like a good amount.

I don't remember the fees being more ridiculous than typical ($3.50ish), but the lines were and at one point all the atm's ran out of money and we had to wait for an armored car to come in and fill them up again. So i would do my best to avoid them at all costs. Just my $0.2
Do any of the vendors take credit/debit cards? I was hoping to just bring cash for essentials.
I don't think a single vendor there (at least from what I saw) was taking anything other than cash. The lines would probably get far too hard to deal with. Maybe inside the "general store" or something, but I didn't get in there. Cash is unfortunately, the only way to go there.

Some of the larger vendors were taking plastic (we bought some shirts and prints) but sometime the wait was long waiting for them to get the cards cleared either through the machine or manually through phone lines. Larry www.larrysafko.com

This is my first Roo and I cant wait, but how much would the average person need for enough "party favors" to last the weekend and have lots of fun? Are prices fair or really high cuz of suppl and demand?
It really depends on how much you want/need. I bring my own favors and get outta there under $100 (decent amount of food & beer). Those with me who purchased favors there said that the prices were higher than usual to but not insane. A rough guess would be ~20% more than you're used to at home. There's LOTS of stuff there so it's mostly a buyers market (providing you're not looking for something exotic).
I think $300 has been exactly right for me every year. I eat almost 100% from the vendors but bring my own beer. I have been known to eat excessively, so that might not be representative. The best way to save yourself from needing to bring a lot of money is to bring your own food. The ATM line is to be avoided, especially if you will have access to a car to lock up any excess cash in.

Alright, i have an adjustment from last year. Since i wont be purchasing any favors im only planning on bringing 100-150. This will mostly be for food and a shirt. If i have extra money at the time though its nice to be able and buy some prints and such, but im tryin to keep it under 200 this year.
last year i took 300 and i wished i would have taken a littttttle more. i only bought a few beers... tons of veggie quesadillas... a lot of random party favors... plus a ten dollar shirt and a wrap thingy. i spent a LOT of money on non-alcoholic bevs in centeroo, just based on the fact that it was a)hot and b)a non-sober environment.
this year i plan on taking about 400. because if radiohead ends up headlining, i owe some people some damn favors. sfgajksfdafljask. and it looks to be heading in that direction.
Last year we brought about $500 for two people and left with most of it. We were fairly well supplied before we set out though, so it was pretty much beer and snacks inside and a little bit of extra stuff (merch, goo balls, etc.). Stay away from the official "General Store" and support the unauthorized vendors (who are selling pretty much anything and everything) and you'll save some change.

$200 was good enough for me but I didnt buy any beer in the fest, i brought my own in. Water is free, I drank that during the day. $200 was spent on favors and thats.
Tip - ATM lines are dead during the wee hours of the morning from what I saw last year.
$1000??? For how many people? If it's just for you then I'd say it's WAY overkill unless; a: you absolutley have to buy every souvenir and trinket you see, or b: you've got a habit that makes Keith Richards look like a cub scout.
It does seem like a bit much (especially for just one person), but I'm sure you could find ways to spend it. If you feel comfortable having that much with you, you can always take home what you don't spend. I might not keep it all in one place, though!
