I've been seeing a significant lack of Oxford commas around the internet recently, and it's making me nervous
No. Never did. I did see something a few years ago where they proved it was legitimate in a series. But I didn’t give a fuck because I was done with school.
This isn’t something I’m too persnickety with, though my senior year I had a college professor who would certainly disagree. He was an older English guy working in the States with some sort of faculty exchange program my school had, he was incredibly particular about grammar rules and whatnot and would ding us for the slightest mistakes. I always got the sense that because he was English and was teaching English, any impropriety in the language was taken personally. It was annoying. I didn’t pay too much attention to him though cuz he was a bit crotchety, often publicly complaining about how underpaid he was given his educational background and whatnot. Then towards the end of the second semester after I had taken his class we learned that he got in an accident and was braindead. Don’t really know what happened after that since I graduated, but it was sad. Anyways that was irrelevant and more than I intended on typing so sorry for rambling, cuz I mean really who gives a fuck about an Oxford coma
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

I use an Oxford comma, but when I worked at Where Magazine, my editor did not. He said it's antiquidated and would prattle on about joining conjunctions and commas. Damn, I miss Doug.

I'm strangely passionate about an oxford comma. I think it just feels natural to use a comma where there is a pause, so I always use an oxford comma. I add them frequently to financial statements at work, even if the previous year didn't have one.
Regarding the song Oxford Comma is just a stupid good song. Bands on their first album don't have any right to be writing songs so easy sounding and polished.
S/t = early fall Contra = late fall Modern vampires = winter Fotb = spring/summer
Using an Oxford comma will not hurt the meaning of a given sentence while not using an Oxford comma can significantly change the meaning and interpretation.
And for all you AP Style lovers, they don’t ban Oxford commas. They state you SHOULD use an Oxford common to avoid confusion.
